i have a new client who is bringing me his 2011 F-150 raptor and 2011 tuarus SHO. these are his babys. they are both black and in great condition. i want to try out some new sealant that will really make these pop and last him a while. they are garage kept. they only sealant i have played with is poorboys but im looking for something maybe more for dark finishes if there is such a thing. anything will help thanks for the advice!
 
I have always like Wet Diamond not only does it look great on everything and everyone always loves the feel of the "slickness" of the paint. Plus it is very easy to work with.
 
If you are looking for a good sealant with longevity, I have had Menzerna Power Lock look really nice, and last longer than Blackfire Wet Diamond, which I also have. The Blackfire Wet Diamond always looks great, but it doesnt have as long a life outside as the Menzerna product.

I Detailed a black Raptor this summer - these things are huge !!! It was metallic black and when finished, the metallic particles looked like you could reach in and touch them.

I used a Rotary and actually use a Rotary on everything and perhaps a Flex 3401VRG or a Meguiars G110V2 for a very light finesse it stage, or applying a glaze or an LSP.

Perhaps if you are going to get a Random Orbital machine, you might want to check out the Meguiars line and their microfiber pads and polishes for Random Orbital machines. They are supposed to be outstanding in terms of correction and finishing quicker than the standard Random Orbital approach of using compounds and polishes..
They should be selling all that equipment here on this site too..

The PB sealant is an excellent choice. Its been my go to for years and not let me down once! The cars you are working on are brand new, if you want to get more pop from the LSP, then use a glaze like poorboys black hole then top that with the sealant.
 
I just used Prima HydroSeal on both our cars & I'm pleased with the results; you don't need a machine to apply it. Smooth as can be and the metallic flakes really stand out.
 
It all depends on what type of any correction work with a machine you do prior to any glaze or sealant put on the paint.
 
I've been using Chemical Guys Blacklight as my LSP for a few months and I love it. It looks AWESOME on any color and is super easy on and off. It has quite a bit of longevity too. My garage-kept daily driver is still beading water and I applied it in June. Not only will you get wax-like gloss and sealant-like longevity, but it can also be used as an AIO if you use a blue or black LC finishing pad, light pressure, and a slower arm speed than what you would typically use while machine-applying an LSP.

PS: you only have to let it cure for 30-40 minutes before you top it with something else if you choose to do so.

for my dark metallic colors i mix some poorboys white diamond and black hole, apply it then top with my LSP which is Poorboys EX-P! Can't go wrong with the poorboy's products!
