Reality Check

Hi all, I just finished going over my car (yes again) and I'm still not completelt happy with the results. My wife is saying that I lost my mind and that the car looks great. I'm happy that my fellow autopians can help me out some some honest and painfull comments. Does my paint need a littl more work (I know it does) or is my wife right and I'm losing my mind. I'll attach a couple of pics. It was getting ready to rain so the lighting was pretty bad.

Thanks in advance

Looks like a great job to me! :xyxthumbs

Just what is it exactly you're not happy with? Not enough *pop* in the shine? Not wet enough? Not deep enough? Not warm enough? Give us a hint.

....I'd call it a day if my car looked like that...

Looks great! From your pics, it doesn't look like you need to do more....for now. BTW, if you want to upload photos all into one post, go to photohost.org and upload your photos there and then copy and paste the web link to your photos into your post. It's free to sign up.:xyxthumbs

Thanks all for the replies and the kind words. Yes, I guess I was hoping for more pop and wetness. I guess that it's all Scottwax fault fualt, nothing looks good to me after looking at his post (LOL). I used NXT topped with EX

Nope you are sick! Get the wife to call the men with the white coats and the padded truck - YOU ARE GOING ON VACATION FOR 30 DAYS! WOO HOO

I ammend my previous comment. Your paint is fine, you were just focussing on the reflected clouds and not the paint surface itself! < snickers evilly >

You have to realize Scottwax has been in the business a long time and developed some trade secerts in technique. I don't thing Scottwax is telling all when he describes his technique when showing his work. Just keep working to perfect your techniques.

I guess I am a bit crazy, damn I hate it when the wife is right LOL. But I still look at the paint and say, maybe a second coat of EX will make it just right!

Looks good man! You have to give yourself some credit once in a while and it looks like now is the time. Wait until the sun pops out and then pat yourself on the back!

:)

I think you shouldn't worry about my work. ;) Just work the paint until you are happy with it. I think you did a great job on the paint...but not so good on compressing your pics...my modem is smoking right now!

If you seriously aren't completely satisfied, maybe try an extra polishing step prior to NXT, maybe Meguiars Swirl Free Polish #82. It really gives some 'pop' to dark colors.
