Rasky's Auto Detailing: Black 2009 Chevy 2500HD "BMFT"

Why not stick to the topic at hand instead of delving into the hypothetical? We are not talking about babies here. We have a responsibility to animals that have been domesticated, since it is OUR fault they have been domesticated in the first place and are "naturally" comfortable coexisting with us and our property. When was the last time someone posted about a skunk or racoon sitting on their car?

A lot of of us have issues with shooting cats. Lets try and find alternative ways to prevent these problems instead of killing innocent animals.

They are not innocent are they?? They know they are doing wrong. That is why they jump off and run away sometimes when they see you. They are doing as they please and are not innocent. I just think society has gone down the tubes when we let animals run and ruin our lives. Sad.

I would assume that they are startled and running because a human is approaching them. NOT because they "know" they are doing wrong.

I don't know how animals are ruining our lives, considering I eat one every night to keep me alive. Maybe you will appreciate the world around you some day in the near future and realize that other creatures/organisms make it possible for us to live here.

This is getting way too OT anyways. To lighten things up, check this out!!!

It is funny how us humans decide which animals are more important than others, and not for eating. So why is it wrong for us to decide which ones to shoot and not to shoot? Over here where I live, deers were over populating a state park so they sent volunteers out there to shoot and kill them. No one seemed to care. I guess because they were not cats and dogs. But they are just as innocent as cats and dogs and were being just animals, weren't they? They were not bothering anyone, just eating all the vegetation. That is no reason to kill them right? But they did. And no one blinked an eye. In fact you should have saw all the excitement it created here around Metro Detroit fpr the hunters.

Back to the detailing topics. This has become way off topic.

Yeah, it is funny how we decide which animals we will use to help sustain our lives versus which ones we will senselessly murder.

BTW, I dont think there is anything wrong with people eating cats and dogs, especially in areas where they are not domesticated. I dont know what happened in Metro Detroit but chances are that the deer were overpopulated in the area and posed a significant threat to the local ecosystem or the humans in the area due to accidents and the like. That is quite different (but still rather nasty IMO) than shooting cats because they are innocently sleeping on the hood of a car.

As an aside, sheepskin mitts work well for washing cars but I prefer to use chenile!! :D

Since you haven't been able to find the cat culprit, I think the best thing for you to do is purchase some of that spray that deter animals and spray it around your vehicle each night. I think spraying it around your car (not ON it) would be enough to keep cats away.

When my persian cat used to sleep on the hood of my 1965 Mustang at night to stay warm, all I did when I caught her is clap my hands loud... she learned real quick not to do that. Another thing to do is fill a soda/beer can with a few pennies and tape the top up. Cats (and dogs) hate that loud rattling sound. If you catch the cat on your car, just make some noise and they will associate it with your car and leave quickly.

Personally, I am a huge cat fan.... dogs are okay and I like a few of them, but I prefer the independence and personality characteristics of cats over dogs. I can hardly believe these posts of people shooting ANYTHING at cats, including water. Paintballs!!?? Those things leave nasty welts on humans, and most likely would seriously injure or kill a cat... don't even attempt it!

Hope you find a solution for your problem without having to revert to something you may regret.

:up Oh.... and not all 19 year old cats smell! My cat died on Christmas day last year and she was the cleanest, non-stinky cat I have ever met. :)

of extreme cat lovers let a human die or refuse fo help a man down on his luck, but will go crazy if a cat has got a hairball stuck in his mouth?

Humans are starving around the world, but no, help

a silly cat and not the human? I say feed the cats to the third world countries! When I was stationed

in S. Korea, Cats and Dogs were very quiet and

docile, because they EAT them over there, and the

aminals seemed to know it.

Again, why not stick to the topic at hand? We arent talking about human lives here, we are talking about scratches on a car. If the survival of our race depended on eating cats and dogs, I dont think you would find many people that would fight with your argument. OTOH, As americans, we waste enough food to feel these starving individuals many times over and have enough produce and resources to significantly dampen hunger, but we don't. You are right, we should send all cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, parakeets, etc. over to "3rd World countries" to feed them.

I am far from a cat lover (cant stand them for the most part) but I do respect their right to live and understand that we have FORCED cats to coexist with us. We have a responsibility because of that.

To TRY to bring this back to topic again I have not found a scratch that I have not been able to remove from sight or lighten significantly with 3M Pefect It Fine Hand Cut. A bonus is that it is about $8.95 for a big bottle and that it is available at most auto parts stores.

Thanks for all the suggestions and tips (and lively discussion)!

A lot of inexpensive deterrents were mentioned and I will be putting some of them around the car.

And thanks for the tip on the 3M product to get rid of the scratches - I'll be trying that big bottle of that too...

Battery powered air rifles. Semi and automatic (select fire). 1:1 scale with the real thing. Fires 6mm plastic BBs. Non lethal ... BBs will not penetrate human skin from 10 feet away, but definately sting. A hella lotta fun.

My uncle actually has the Thompson SMG ... shoots the neighborhood cats that come into his yard. Hasn't had to use it for over a month 'cos the cats stopped going into his yard.
:D

2009 Chevy 2500HD pickup. Big Mother ******* Truck! (BMFT) :D

Sorry, not a full write up this time, but I wanted to at least show a few pics of the truck I worked on this weekend.

Since this thing had an additional 12" of overall height between the lift and new wheels/tires, cleaning it in my garage was obviously not an option. I've never been a big fan of working on cars off site. I really like the way I have things set up at my shop and having lots of room to move around the vehicle is something I enjoy having. I also don't like having to haul all my detailing stuff to a new location as I always seem to forget something. That and I would much rather detail a car without an audience. Regardless, the owner really wanted the truck done and I needed the cash with x-mas just around the corner.

I arrived at the location provided to me via email. I had no idea what condition the truck was in but was told it came directly from the dealership to the performance shop, and had not been washed yet. I also had no idea what the area I was to be working in looked like.

Here is what I walked into Saturday morning...LOL, I had planned on finishing this truck in one day!

After washing and claying I gave up on pictures as there was a few people around and I knew this was going to take more time than I had planned. Here was a shot of the clay after one of the vertical sections. After taking this pic I put the camera away and got to work as I was going to need every minute I had to get this thing done.

Paint condition wasn't too bad, typical light marring with a few RIDS and I opted for a 2-step correction; SIP white LC/PO85RD black LC on the rotary. There was also some sort of over spray all over the truck...not sure where it came from but I had only brought mild clay, which was not working the best and added some extra time to the job.

The owner also had me de-badge the truck as he was going for the "murdered out" look. All lights were being covered with a tinted film, which is why they are not on the truck. ;)

I snapped a few pics as I finished, again nothing crazy and I apologize for the overall lack of pics.

About 15 hours invested.

Thanks for looking,

Hey Rasky! I've done a couple of those BIG trucks!

I usually estimate what I would charge for a car and QUADRUPLE IT!!!

Nice work!!!

Thanks Bill. I kind of regretted not taking before pics after it was all done, but the shop owner was already going out of his way to let me clean one of his customers cars there and it would not look good if I had taken all that extra time to set up nice pics. ;)

Great job Chad that thing is huge.

Thanks Bryan!

You guys have a good Thanksgiving?

Nice work, especially "mobile" and on a two post lift.

It's about time you do a big truck! You have been spoiled with the 'small' cars recently.

I feel your pain. I just did two crew cab dually's. :out:

My shoulders still haven't recovered.

PS: Any chance of getting pics when that truck is done? I bet it will look good with those wheels and the tinted lights.

Damn! That's a lot of area to cover bro! I definitely feel your pain! I sat in the hot tub for about an hour each night when I got home and had a few cervezas too. :D

The owner said he would take pics when they get done and I'll post them up ;)...hopefully it will still be clean. The lights were dropped off while I was there working and they do look great.

LMAO! The best part was that I drove 45 minutes to this place and when I pulled up to the building I couldn't help but notice that there was a detail shop right next door to the performance shop!!!
