Years and years ago I used raindance on my car. When it first came out it was great, layered like crazy and the water beading was fantastic! Not sure of the longevity as I waxed my car at least once a month. When I took my car into a body shop to get work done they came up to me when I was picking it up wondering what I used. They said that was the best wax job they had ever seen. But after a few years they must have changed the formula and it wasn't that great anymore, so the quest to find another product.

I haven't seen this in about 25 years or more when last week while picking up a perscription for my daughter I saw Raindance on the shelf at the pharmacy! I almost bought some just for nostalgia sake, has anybody here tried this lately? More curious here then actually wanting to try it again.
 
i remember the can that was in the garage of my old house ( just moved last year )



my dad would always wash and wax his vehicles, that is how i got into it.

i'm 24 now and i have not noticed it anywhere.



the rubbing compound was really gritty, almost like liquid sandpaper :eek:



i'd buy it and try it on something :hifive:
 
Guy- I'd be curious as to whether it's a decent product these days. Back in its original form, it was a decent cleaner wax, at least on single stage. My favorite aunt switched to it after her health got too bad for "proper" detailing and she kept her MOPAR looking great with just the Raindance.

scratched the hell out of the clear coat on my dads 92 p/u



good thing that was years ago, and i only used it in the bed, after that, i told him not to use it anywhere else,



we promptly went to trak auto and got the deep crystal series,,



man, megs has been around for quite some time, used to have the lambo on the bottle
 
tabinha- Yeah, they rated it very highly back in the late '70s. It was one of the few times I agreed with them about waxes.



gav'spurplez- I never used the RainDance (version whatever, but early) on b/c, but it wasn't all *that* aggressive on ss. My Aunt's Chrysler didn't have any hazing or anything and I doubt that she was especially meticulous about her technique.



Heh heh, you make me feel a million years old...saying that the newfangled DC stuff has been around for a long time :D
