Rain-x?

I see all these "i love rain-x" threads but does the chattering not bother these people. I was getting a headache.
Well, when you have never had any chatter, I don't see how it can bother you.

Well I was going to get some Aquapel, but I couldn't fin it anywhere in the stores. So I just went with rain-x instead. I put on two coats and it seems to be doing fine.
The only place I have found it in a local store is Harbor Freight.

I have used Aquapel and it is nice, but it just isn't worth the money for me. It does last quite a bit longer than RainX application for application. I just can't justify the price for it just 1 windshield application.

BTW, aquapel is now called trico view. I just got $60 off a 24 pak and they came out to $2.29 a piece. I get at least 6 months out of each application and there's no haze or glare like the rainx. Well worth the dough and perfect for a lazy person like me.

I use Rain-X.. I find it easier to buff out the marks with newspaper than with a MF towel. Works great thought.

I use Glass Science which appears to be similar to Rain X. I have not experienced any chatter per se. I do use a QD on my winodows between Glass Science applications. I like the idea of letting Glass Science haze and then removing it with a QD. I will have to try that. My wiper blades are Rain X brand and they are the best I've ever had - very flexible and stay on the windshield with no skipping.

I always found the best way to apply was to put Rain X on before I wash. I apply before I do my wheels and by the time I am done its all hazed. I then wash as normal. For me it really cut down on hazing with trying to remove with water and a MF.

Pats300zx, do you clean the windshield at all before you apply the Rain X? It seems you would have to: (1) clean the windshield; (2) apply Rain X; then, (3) wash the car as normal. Or do you NOT clean the windshield before Rain X application, thereby applying Rain X to a dirty windshield?
