Rain-x on Lexus rx330

Gidday,

I've got rain-x on the front and rear windows and it's smeared real bad! How do i get it off!!! Can anyone give me some advice?

Were the windows clean before applying Rain-X? I've never had problems with Rain-X smearing on my windows.

Try Bon Ami or Barkeepers Friend and scrub it off.DO NOT USE COMET OR ANYTHING ELSE,IT WILL SCRATCH YOU WINDOWS!!!

thanks for the reply guys! Yep the widows where clean as a whistle. Where do I get bon ami or barkeepers friend from?

I believe straight alcohol will remove it also...

you can get bar keepers at wal mart...

do you want to strip it back to bare glass or just remove the smears?

i doubt much will remove rain x totaly, but to help with the smearing try washing the windows down and drying with a mf towel

rain x states you should mist water to help removal...really does the job for me, in fact i apply it to clean glass before i wash the car

I apply the rain X with a microfiber padand let it haze over.

I then take a damp microfiber towel (I soak it, then wring it out), wipe the glass down and dry the glass with another microfiber towel.

I have never had a streaking/hazing problem.
