Raggtopp convertible protectant

Hey guys

Last week I used this product on my cloth vert top. I followed the instructions. Everything looked good. Well, my car has been sitting out in the rain. The rain finally let up, and I have noticed some areas of my top that seem like it has "residue" on it...or overspray. I'm pretty sure this is frot the raggtopp product, though I think at some point I may have sprayed the stuff on "too close". Will this stuff eventually fade away?...or do I have a big issue on my hands?

Thanks in advance

Melissa

I would contact Raggtopp to see what they say.

With Raggtopp or 303s version, you want to ensure that the top is 100% dry prior to application. A full day in the hot sun should work, but if its cooler out, I usually try and wait till the next day. I place fans around the top and leave them on overnight.

Better to apply lighter multi coats, then one thick coat. I apply in different directions on subsequent coats.

Hi Melissa,

Good Advice from GM. I have a convertible and used the Raggtopp products and have had no problems. I did wait until the late Spring/Summer to follow the process. It seems the "curing" in the sun was a great benefit.

Did you contact Raggtopp, I'm curious to see what they say.

Okay guys....I'm sorry, but my "issue" was a false alarm. I went back out to the car....it has stopped raining altogether, and the top looks fine. I'm thinking that after I applied the product, now it takes "longer" for the top to dry, hence the "spots" that I was seeing.

On a side note, I DIDN'T wait a day for the top to dry when I initially protected it. I just let the car sit in the sun for about 15 minutes.

ANyway, thank you all for your quick replies.

It is probably how the water was sitting on your top. I never let the cars sit over night to apply protectant. I've used ragg topp stuff for awhile and never had a problem.

I find that Opt. Protectant is as good or better- did a white conv. top that was almost black and green before I steamed it- two thin coats as instructed is better than one thick one.

I'd like to apply this type of product through an air sprayer gun- would use less and really cover more evenly.
