Quikshine before and after pics

I detailed this 1997 BMW M3 just before Christmas (polished with Meguiars DACP to remove some minor swirling, then used Megs Swirl Free Polish then Clearkote's Vanilla Moose before waxing with S100 Paste Wax) and the lady called me out again late last week to wax it again since it had been washed at the dealer and they left streaks in the paint. The weather had been dry, but the car was left under a tree at the dealer and had some light sap and dust on it. She needed me to finish within 90 minutes since she had to pick someone up at the airport, so I really didn't have time to wash it (yes, even with QEW) and wax it and guarantee she could leave in 90 minutes, so I went over the whole car with Quikshine.



I think the results speak for themselves. The first pic is before and the second immediately after using Quikshine and before waxing it again.

Another fine testimonial for the ClearKote products. Have you heard anything from Everett on the Vanilla Moose product release? I've checked the website and haven't seen any updates.

It is available for $12 per pint. Until he adds it to the website, you have to order it using the 'comments' box on the order page. When I got in my new gallon of Quikshine, the order form including did list Vanilla Moose.

Yes and no. It definately would not give that shine right away. You would need to wash, dry, then probably polish and wax again. Plus, I have found the "Quik Detailer" to streak more than it takes streaks out.



But, it can be used to remove minor dust and increase shine temporarily. Just dont expect miracles. The Meg's is $3.49 and ClearKote's stuff is around $15 if I remember right.

I vote to ban Scottwax from Autopia. He is making me feel bad... really bad... How the hell can he do that with just a QD???? Who is this guy??? That's ridiculous!!! When I go over my car with a QD, it looks exactly the same as before. And I know the problem isn't that I don't use Quickshine. The problem is that I'm not Scottwax... I don't know what you did with that stuff, Scottwax, but the result is beyond amazing.

:eek: I shall have to acquire some of that it, that is amazing. Dang i can't wait till spring gets here so i can get back to detailing the car outside.

LoL, he's the MacGuyver of auto detailing. Armed with no hose, no machines or electricity (just his bare hands and a few modest products), he transforms cars with crappy shines into cars that belong in a showroom. :xyxthumbs

Ask dboat. I detailed his 1989 Mustang GT (the one listed for sale on the home page) and his wife's Viterra.



Most of the base shine was from detailing the car 3 weeks before going back over it, but Quikshine removed all the dust, sap, etc from the paint in the direct sun. I didn't move the car into the shade to QD it. The point was to show that you can use Quikshine on heavy dust and sap and get excellent results. Most QDs cannot handle that much grime on the paint.



Of course, if the sides of the car are really slimed by driving in the rain, you should wash the car first, but if it is just really dusty, has water spots or sap from a tree, Quikshine should work fine. In addition, you can safely use it in the sun in most cases, although on black paint at straight up noon in the summer, you either have to work a very small area (maybe 1' x 1') at a time, or move the vehicle out of the direct sun.



Anyone else who has used Quikshine also knows how effective it is on bird bombs. Spray on, wait 30 seconds and most wipe away completely.

It is really amazing what you can find when you aren't really looking. I was in a small automotive shop at the local mall that sells mostly customizing peices and some performance stuff too and I saw the Clearkote display. I was out of Meguiars #34 and has a car that I knew I was going to have to clay the next day. I asked the guy working if he had tried Quikshine and he told me he had and that was why they carried it. Good enough for me to at least buy some and give it a try. Haven't used anything else since.

BTW, where I come from, I have to pay 2 1/2 times the price you pay for Meg's QD; that's USD 8.16!!:scared That would mean I'd have to pay about USD 38 for ClearKote's QD!! Oh! Other than Meg's, Autoglym, Turtle Wax, Kit, some 3M there really is nothing much else I can get here. :(
 
Scott, how does that compare to the Meguiars QD? Not the one in the maroon bottle, i remember using one in the tan bottle, i think it was Reflections, don't remember, but i was impressed by it and debating between a bottle of that, or the Quikshine. Thanks

Hey Scott, that is an amazing transformation from the before to the after pic of that trunk.



One question if i may: Do you follow the directions David B gives in his book on how to quick detail, or do you have your own condensed version?
