Avalanche, yeah I do see what you're saying. Well my main gripe is that it's A) a Civic EX, not a sports car, and B) it's an automatic. So my whole reason for putting the loud muffler on was for sound ( I got sweept into the whole fast and furious thing lol

). So yeah to answer your laughs now, I was a ricer...all show and no go. I've been through the whole "maybe I'll swap the tranny", and "maybe I'll super/turbo charge it", but I'm so busy in school now that I'll be getting my bachelor's degree in a year (finally

) and then off working on the masters degree, so I'm bringing my car back to stock specs and will pursue my need for speed with something like a BMW or Vette when I graduate. The civic is a nice reliable get-around-town kinda car, so I'll leave it as such. No disrespect to the guys with SI's and manual EX's, those can be made fast, with enough $ and time. I've seen a bunch of 4 banger civics with a couple thousand bucks worth of mods smoke Vettes and Vipers.
I was just thinking that if an aftermarket muffler that was quieter than stock existed then I would check that out. But from what I gather that's not going to be the case, maybe some mufflers might be AS quiet but not quieter, and since I still have a brand new OEM muffler & resonator sitting in the rafters in my garage I might as well weld it back on.
Thanks for all the information guys, you all saved me hours of internet-sleuthing to find these answers. :wavey
