Quickie on a highly modified 03 corvette vert

Got up today, the wife and 3 yr old had most of their day planned. So I thought I would go over to a friends and clean up "red" for him. Called Chris and he was headed the same way already. Our mission today was just to clean the car up and apply some Z5pro. It would get a full detail later.

The car was at some "un-named" shop for the last 2-3 months and of course still has the same problem. :wall It also came back just a "little bit" dirtier, especially on the inside. :bat

After rinse, before wash:

Top, nasty after applying 303 fabric top cleaner:

I let it dwell for 20 mins. Gave it a scrub and let it dwell for another 10 mins. Then rinse and rinse. Looks better, will evaluate after it dries.

Interior:

Just about the entire is covered in Caravaggio Leather.

Thanks to the fine folks at this "un-named" shop who the owner spent alot of money with on the interior and many other modifications....

The interior will have to wait for another day, the wheels will need to be dismounted and thourghely cleaned. Chris gave the wheels a very good effort, but we did not have any good wheel cleaner on hand. :ignore

The swirling and marring on the paint is not that bad. I have seen alot worse on vettes.

So after the wash-clay-wash, I decided to light polish/clean the paint with some ZPC and a white pad on the PC at 6. It looked nice enough for now, so I applied a beta version of Zaino Clear Seal.

Sorry for the crappy pics. It was not very nice at all outside, the car will be staying at the shop for a while.

Chris and the owner came by after I had left. The owner said, this is the best the paint has ever looked. Chris told him wait till he does the full polishing. :woot:

Can't wait to give it a full detail. The interior and wheels will take a while, but I will get this car back to the level it and the owner deserve.

damn...read through all that then looked back at the first pics and damn is the best description....looks much better outside

you did a fantastic "qiuck detail". The vette looks awesome.

I just received my zaino line from Gregcavi. Can't decide which car to try it out on. The Jetta or the Sienna.

Good job on the detail. Make sure to post some more pictures when you do the rest.

I can't believe that shop has messed up the car like that. I would be pretty ticked!

Despite where the work was done on that car, I still love it! Glen knows what he is doing!

The quick detail looks great - I can't wait to see it once it gets the full deal.

You have polished a lot of HP this weekend brother!

I have no background on this car, but if I were the owner I would mention (going by the estimated thousands spent on leather work looking at the Carvaggio website, 200 just for the handles) to be easy on the interior

Additionally, that shop seems to deal with rarer cars, and should take the proper precautions to buy the rediculously cheap plastic mats and seat covers.

BTW, gorgeous Corvette interior.

Remarkable improvement on the exterior for a 2 step job, outstanding! :)

Personally, I'd shame that shop all over the internet for the way they have trashed that interior...

Thanks guys! Looks like the plan for the leather is to soak it down with Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil and let it sit for a week or more. Either I or the owner should be able to make it by the shop and reapply some RO during the "soaking phase"
