1997 camaro LT1 M6 T-tops
Hey guys on my camaro right above the exhaust tips there is some black suit from the exhaust in the paint. I tried clay barring but it only took some of it out and i can't seem to get the rest out. Now you can't feel it if you run your hand over it. It's kind of weird is there any products that will take that out. Thanx

Jason

is it in the paint or on top of the paint?

Either way, if it were my car, I'd try a good bug and tar remover like Stoner's . If you have limited results with that, I'd move to
3M adhesive and Wax remover .

Polish will take it off its in the clear coat pretty good....I took some off a Corvete this last weekend.....I used PB Pro-polish because that was on hand but any decent polish will take it off....I used a sealant on the car to help reduce the amount of smoke stain that will stick to it moving forward.

I would presoak it with some APC or degrease, then lightly agitate and rinse. This should take most of it off.

Then follow with a chemical paint cleaner as per instructions.

Being catless, I am used to this.

Blue Magic metal polish and cream,

I used this on my 71 olds and a motorcycle when nothing else worked it took off oxidation from the chrome, swirls rust etc and the nice part was there was no heavy scrubbing easy on and easy i love this stuff.

Dampen a MF with Chemical Spirits or a tar remover

Spray or apply the Chemical Spirits or tar remover on your paint. Let it dwell for a few minutes, and wipe off with your dampened MF.

Rinse with water (or wash)

Finish off with a chemical cleaner polish (AIO or Pro-Polish will do the trick).

On the exhaust. Pro-Polish and #000 wool will clean it up.

I soak with some Foaming Citrus product and then Hot Chrome polish from English Custom (TOL)
