Quick Menzerna PO106FF Review

Superbee, I have the new 1Z intensive paste as well as the high gloss polish. 1Z IP has somewhat of a lemony scent. I havent quite gotten the correcting down with it yet but it does clean up nice. May splatter on you since it is more runny than the HGP. But i'm sure you can work your way around it.

I will have to get some 1z pro products and test them for myself.

I've got some if you'd like to try it out. I'd just have to go out and purchase some sample bottles.

Sounds like a great idea. I have quite a bunch of things to trade you.

The problem is I have seen (and experienced first hand) 106ff "fill" or mask defects up to a month. I strongly believe it is because the polish was designed for MB paint specificaly and may react differently when used on soft paint. I have only had this problem on soft paint.

Use 106 or SIP on softer paint and feel the surface, hot! hot! hot!. Use it on hard paint (Corvette, MB, Audi, ect...) and it glides like butter and the surface stays cool to the touch. When Menzerna first marketed the product, it specificaly said for SCR paint. Since then, they have backed off that, but I heard (maybe not true) that in Europe, the containers say that it doesn't work on all paints.

When they work, they are the most amazing polishes I have ever used. When they act up, they can be funny. Because the potential is their for some filling on softer paints, as long as you are smart about it (If it is seems like it is doing more correction then a finishing polish should, then it is probably filling). Its better safe then sorry.

I have found myself using SIP more for correction, then finishing with 3M's new Ultra Fina 3000, which suprisingly, doesn't seem to mask anything.

OK Todd... I did a severe test today on soft black.

I took PG on an orange pad via rotary and polished a section of my fender. I then noticed marring from the PG. So, I then took 106ff via rotary at 2000 rpm and spun it for 3 min. until all the marring was gone. I wiped the finish with a clean MF and it looked amazing. I inspected it heavily under halogens and I could not find anything.

I did a IPA wipedown and BANG... All the marring from the PG had appeared big time... I was amazed. I normally always use SIP after PG anyway, but to see how perfect it looked after 106, until the wipedown, really should make people think to do a IPA wipedown and inspect under halogens.

While I got my truck under the halogens, I am gonna test ultrafina after PG to see what happens.

I knew that 106 did not have enough grunt to remove the marring from PG, but to see it look perfect with 106 after PG and then watch it come back after a IPA wipedown was downright scary.

That's why I always use SIP after PG and try perfecting SIP to the max.

As a new Menzerna user, this information is extremely useful! Thanks to everyone who's posted in here. I myself find that 106ff does fill and like mentioned previously, after an IPA wipedown, there is still some oils remaining.

Either way, 106ff is great!

I've been following up OC with 106ff for my two last full exterior details and now I feel extremely guilty knowing what I know now.

Thanks again!

Sounds great. Monday, I'll look for a place to purchase a couple bottles so you can sample both the 1Z Intensive Paste and High Gloss Polish. Or after my detail tomorrow i can just swing by any store and look for something that will hold the product in.

Maybe you guys need to shell out $24.99 for this product and shelf the $0.50 IP mix!
