Quick Cleanup with ONR (first time on salt ridden vehicle)

DavidB: Dont worry...everything is as cool as a cucumber over here! :up

I agree and hope the Taliban leaders are eradicated, or at least forced to live like the people they oppress. The citizens in Afghanistan have been crying for our help for a while now...I am glad that we are ready to support them by defending ourselves!

So having the day off and it being 47 degrees out, I decided to clean up the truck a little. Started with the following items:

ONR (body, wheels)
Black Magic Foam tire cleaner (wheel wheels)
Meguiars Super Degreaser (tires)
Stoner Trim Shine (for the trime )
Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer (was going to wax, but it was cooling off)
Meguiar's Hot Shine (tires)

So here's what I started with:

Rear:

So after some ONR using 2 bucket method (it was so dirty I didn't want to risk just using 1), and some scrubbing, I ended up with this:

I must say I am an ONR believer. Got a possible detail lined up for Feb and one for March (I do this on the side), I may have to see if I can get some more. This stuff is great. Enjoy.

Lookin' good!

I did an ONR wash on a dark vehicle last night. It was probably a bit more grungy with winter crud than your truck and before I was done I was wishing I woulda dragged the hose out. Lots of crud and grit in the wheel wells that could've used a water blast. ONR did the job though. I keep a 3 gallon sprayer filled with an ONR mix and spray down the worst of it before getting started. Good stuff!

Nice job on the truck. Just remember, when using ONR, do not scrub. Just gently pass back and forth. With that much crud on the paint, you don't want to take any chances.

Doesn't it feel great to get that mess off your truck.

Hey Indy! The truck looks great! That's pretty typical of a daily driver in Northern or Mid-west winter climates. Every time I use ONR, I'm just amazed at how well it works and no rinsing is necessary! (Smart move using 2 buckets.:))

Thanks guys! Yeah I didn't really scrub it (guess I should have used a different word ;)), as I used a microfiber finger wash mitt, and with it soaked, it wiped all the crap right off. Black Magic foaming tire cleaner cleaned up the wheel wells great (tip I learned off here) so I didn't have to scrub those.

I like the sprayer idea, I'll have to get one of those. I did need the hose for the tires so I could get the white letters clean (needed a good rinse), but other than that I like this ONR stuff. Going to try the wife's car when she gets back from the In-laws this weekend, saves me 14 bucks at the carwash and doesn't leave the swirls (and her car will be trashed from driving 4 hours there and back)

I always [in winter and salty conditions] use a 1 gallon sprayer with ONR/water to presoak the entire truck. Then I can wash every panel with my buckets of water and ONR and a lot of the salt has already come off or seperated.

Truck looks good! ONR leaves a nice shine.
