Quick 04 Accord Detail

This is my dad's car and he wanted to wash it so I decided to go ahead and remove those swirls while I was at it. It was a school night (first day), so I couldn't work on it too long. ;) I started at 8:00pm and stopped at about 10:15pm, not too bad.

Process:

Wash

Clay

Opt. Polish with green propel pad (PC)

Wax with Mother's carnuaba cleaner wax (found this as a good 1 step) with blue pad (PC)

That was it, like I said it was a quicky. Came out pretty good though. I'll do the thing again one weekend, probably as a Bday present (next month).

Car info: 2004 Honda Accord Coupe V6 6spd, Saphire Blue

I wasn't able to get any good pics of the whole thing at night, but I'll try to take some pics of it when he gets home and post them.

Let me know what you guys think of this quicky. ;)

Looks like a nice improvement in the halogen shot, but a full sun daytime shot of the whole vehicle would be nice. We used to have an '03 Accord before we traded it in for the baby mover, and I love that body style. So sad to see the new '06 rear end on the Accords, it's an abomination.

My dad got home too late for full light pictures today, but I'll QD and take pics tomorrow.

I haven't seen the new rear for 06, unless your talking about the brake lights changing. Do you have any pics of the new rear, by any chance?

Ok. Opinions on the polish?

I can't believe you did that in that little of time. Is it better than SSR with a PC do you think?

Rear end styling, and new wheel design combine to give a more granny look to the '06. I think the new Civic design now makes the Accord look like a total POS.

WOW, Ive never seen that and I am a subscriber to every car magazine about. That does look like crap, but it does have some cool things. I like the lights, all red and styled like the couples, and I like the 3rd brake light, but that bumper looks like sh*t! Its like a mix between, a maxima, civic and accord coupe, could have been good, but that bumper is too much.

Well, I like it. It spreds good and uses very little once the pad is loaded. It has a long working time, which is good. With my pad choice it was effective at removing the slight swirls, although not 100% but I didn't work it that long and I didn't use an agressive pad. In comparison to the SSRs, I only have the 2.5 which is a lot more agressive than opt. IMO. Two completely different products. But if you want a comparison, then the opt. has a longer working time and takes longer to work, it (OCP) goes on more even, comes off easier, but doesnt do as much as the SSR2.5. I would rather use the OCP than SSR2 or 1 assuming they work like SSR2.5, but 2.5 is better for getting rid of deeper stuff. Also in my case with the little time to work, I would recomend the SSRs, but I only have 2.5 and that wasnt really needed.

Now thats my version of a review, very unorganized and makes little sense. Sorry, but that my first. Hope it helps at least a little.

Well I couldn't get any full sun pics because it sits outside and the morning dew with dust is a bad combo. I'll post next time its washed maybe. Sorry guys. I'll definitly post up when I do the full detail too.
