virgo_888- If you're gonna use the KSG you should use the Klasse AIO first, and that will just clean off any glaze. I get the paint as nice as I can with polishes and then use AIO. Then I layer KSG. I go for six layers, which provides incredibly long-lasting protection. And FWIW I don't top it with wax as I like to add more from time to time.

The UPP doesn't seem to layer up as well as the KSG. It seems to lose slickness after a few washes no matter how much I put on, so I just do two coats (primarily to ensure good coverage) and then add another as soon as I notice the slickness dropping off. I don't top the UPP either, espcecially since I add more fairly frequently.

Oh, and none of these products hide flaws, so do the prep as best you can first.

So seriously now, what is the deal with Klasse Sealer/Glaze. Is it basically useless without Klasse AIO? That seems completely bogus.

I was thinking about this the other day. I washed a car, clayed it, polished with XMT 3 then polished it again with XMT 1. The paint was as flawless as i could get it, completely clean, reflective, glossy, and deep. Obviously I wanted to protect it. A good sealant would be the perfect choice here, however, after all that I didn't want to go over the whole car again with AIO just so I could use some KSG. I ended up using some XMT finishing glaze w/carnauba.

So seriously, what would happen if you just put the KSG down without the AIO? It just seems dumb that a product can't do what it claims to do on its own.

Um. I somehow suspect that the KSG would do just fine if it were applied to clearcoat. You just can't apply KSG onto paint that still has wax or different sealant on. KAIO polishes any remaining waxes on the paint and applies itself. So if you polished I don't see why you wouldn't use KSG. KAIO is so you can avoid polishing.

consider klasse aio and sg a package that should used together

sealant glaze may well work over oil free clean paint, but we know it works very well over aio , so why complicate things

I'm trying NOT to complicate things. I think another step after polishing is unnecessary and complicates things even more.

I'm going to try applying just KSG to freshly polished, completely clean paint and see what happens.

How will I know if its working. What are some of the signs to look for? How do I know when its wearing off?

It oughta work fine, even though *I* always precede it with AIO just to make sure. KSG's label only says to use AIO if it's needed (oxidation, etc.).

KSG is something that you can readily feel on the surface (feels like a plastic coating), so you oughta know it bonded. See if the durability matches used-over-AIO durability. The look might be too subtle to notice, so I'd go by the feel myself. Or by how long it takes to do the switch from tight beading to sheeting.

If you get smearing as it dries (or the drying seems to take too long), or streaking, or if you can't feel it on the surface, then I'd say something went wrong. Also, watch for "SG blooming"..like it comes back and needs rebuffed after a few days. Don't hear much about that these days...

Less,

See my post in your KSG thread . . . basically, AIO isn't necessary, but you want the paint to be free from polishing oils before applying KSG. How you get the paint there is up to you; AIO is one of the more convenient methods.
