Questions on new pads and Detailers Paradise vendor...

Just got my LC 6.5" pad kit from Detailers Paradise. Are the 6.5" MEANT to attach to a 5" backing plate or was that a mistake?



Second.. due to a shipping delay, they included a free MF glass towel, as stated on the receipt. Nice surprise eh? Wrong... wasn't even IN the box! How weird is that? I just emailed them, we'll see how they respond to that mistake. :)
 
I've seen pads advertised differently on different sites and have actually purchased pads incorrectly because of this discrepancy. Generally, a 6.5" pad defines the diameter of the pad itself, and should be used with either a 5" or 6" plate...I prefer the 5" plate. 7.5" pads should use the 6" plate. I don't know which specific pad you received, but take a ruler and measure the diameter and that should tell you what's up.

Good to know. I believe the pads are truely 6.5 and the plate is 5. I'll confirm later. Thanks alot.
 
Nick @ DP is a top-notch guy to deal with :bigups and no vendor is immune to shipping mixups/delays. I'm sure he will correct the mistake if given the opportunity.
 
I was hoping. I assumed it was an honest mistake. Waiting to hear back before I give my opinions. Depending on how they respond is the difference in me being a one-time customer or a life-time customer... no substitute for good vendors that handle their customers well.

I agree. I've since stopped going to one online vendor because they don't respond to customer service type emails in a timely manner, especially after an order has been placed and am waiting on shipping cost information from them. They offer a discount, but I still use other vendors that don't offer Autopia discounts that have excellent customer service. I've dealt with Detaler's Paradise and it was a good experience though.
