Questions about Z7 wash

Well i have been using zaino now for a while and i never really liked their Z7 wash compared to MGC or even dawn. It seems like the wash doesnt really stick to the surface, when i rub the mitt it feels like im just rubbing water around.... I am not sure what i am doing wrong... When I fill the bucket it, it is full of suds but the suds do not stay on the car like it would if i used dawn or MGC, i have never tried dawn or MGC on a zainoed car, i am speaking of using those shampoos on regular paint waxed with anything else. Is this just the way zaino behaves? Please help.

That's the way Zaino behaves:

a Z'd car is slick, so slick that you don't experience resistance when rubbing with your washmitt, feels like you're rubbing water around.

In my review of Z7( Review section) I mentioned that Z7 not realy removes real crud or baked-in road grime,

but it leaves a hell-of-a great shine after the wash.

Gold Class shampoo cleans a bit better IMHO

Dawn is too harsh for regular use

I find after a while the suds in the bucket disappera but I have a large truck.....so I make two batches.....one for the roof and hood...and thenone for the sides.....I make smaller batches this way it amounts to the same amount of shampoo used.

As for washing it does have less suds then say a MGC.....but it cleans better for me and you have to hold onto the mitt else it will slide away.....

Experiment with your concentration of shampoo to water......in small batches until happy then make larger batches in that ratio of shampoo to water.

I use about a 1/2 dollar size in my bucket to about half full with water.....your bucket size may vary.....

I love Z7. Try Guess My Name's suggestion. I get enough suds from Z7 ( 2 caps/ 3/4 gal H2O) I love the way the wash mit slides across the surfaces and the way Z7 lifts the dirt. After rinsing the sheen is fantastic. I use Z7 and all my cars, carnuaba and Blackfire protected.:xyxthumbs

I notice something similar - suds does not stay on the car as much as MGC, but never to a stage of "just rubbing water around". I agree play with the ratio of shampoo/water. Maybe use a bit less water or just add more shampoo.

I believe you know that you need to "blast" the bucket with water for few seconds to get the suds to come out.

here's another fact about Z7: the surfactant in it is WATER BASED. This means its not going to have the same behaviors as most other carwashes in which the surfactant is detergent based. It is of a high lubricity which makes your "water sliding arround" theory seem correct.

Remember also that the surface conditioners and oils in Meguiar's Gold Class are carnauba oil based, as well as containing other petroleum distillates. Zaino has none of these and the oils can potentially even harm the durability and effectiveness of zaino. You also may experience somewhat decreased layering ability and bonding of subsequent layers when these oils are present prior to application. And we all know Dawn is way too harsh to use as a weekly/etc. wash.
