Questions about waxing with Souveran

:help: Hi guys. I've been checking out Autopia.org for the last 4 months reading posts and the how-to articles. I've got a black 05 Mustang GT that i've been using DG 101 on and have recently tried Distinctive Details -excalibur and TW ultimate. Well, i've ordered a Pinnacle Souveran kit from autogeek.net. The kit has the souveran wax, shampoo, and paint cleansing lotion. My question is. Do i need to wash my car with some dishwashing detergent to strip all the old stuff off and start over with the Pinnacle or just start by washing it and follow the rest of the steps with cleaning and waxing? Thanks for any help. And great site.

You can use dawn if you want to ensure stripping of old wax but its not necessary especially if you plan on using the Paint cleansing lotion.

No need for the dish soap, as it will not remove the DG anyhow, at least not all of it.

IMO, all you have to do is a normal wash, follow with the PCL, then the Souveran. If it's a daily driver, I'd apply some sort of sealant before the Souveran, as the Souveran itself will offer little protection from daily driving.

I was thinking about getting the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant but i havent ordered it yet. Could I use the TW Ultimate or maybe the DG 101? I'm a noobie. I love DG. Been using it for 8 years. Thanks for the replies so far. TigerMike are u in Memphis? I'm in Tupelo, MS

Th best sealant/nuba combo is supposed to Wolf sealer with Souveran paste, I have both on the way.

Really...how'd you come across this. I know you've been searching for the best LSP(s)

Well, maybe I should have clarified! From all of my research of various sealants and waxes, and from using sooo many of them and trying combos of various ones, everything leads me to...for dark colors Wolfganag sealant with Souveran topped. All testimonials and forums galore, majority contend that this combo provides the wettest looking if your doing selant and wax topper.

Don't get me, I have many products I love...I love AIO for so many htings, EXP is great on lots of things, and man can;t beat Natty Blue $ for $ in caranubas. Max Wax on sale is an awesome wax as well. Speaking of which, I could be perfectly happy with AIO< EXP, and NB, but I kept going and going and going...

I haven't messed with otc sealers. I would imagine if Reflections makes one it would be great???
