questions about blackfire wet diamond

I have carnauba wax on my car which I applied about a week ago (Pinnacle Sovereign). Just ordered Blackfire Wet Diamond. Can I just put Blackfire on top of it about a week later?

Thanks

Noting that I've never used BFWD, generally sealants won't bond to waxes, especially "oily" waxes like Souveran. I'd clean the wax off with some kind of paint cleaner first, or maybe even a Dawn/etc. wash (but I'm not impressed with Dawn's wax-stripping ability).

My plans for this weekend

Wash - Meg's Gold Class - low on suds car is clean

IPA Wipedown (car was clayed about a month ago)

Meg's 205 finishing polish with my orbital to remove some hairline scratches I just noticed

Blackfire Polish to prep the surface

Blackfire Sealant x2 8 hrs apart...

Overkill or missing anything ???

Sounds fine to me. I might just do one coat of the BF and then do another after the next wash, just depends on how things go.

I might not do the IPA, preferring a "super-shampoo" approach instead, but that's just me. I probably would do the IPA (or rather, in my case, PrepWash) after the M205 though.

Because David said it was good I'm going to try it. I must say I'm a little concerned about the cure time, but he said it will work and I trust him. Also OCW under Z8 dunno, but I'll try it.

Make sure you apply BF super thin. I literally put no more than 10-12 small drops on a Gold LC pad to do an entire vehicle. Keep us updated on the cocktail!

Super thin is my middle name. Can't wait to try that cocktail combo out. Just got a gold lc pad in...normally I like to apply by hand, but a pc will put it on thinner and more even. Thanks David.

I'm surprised how little product David is using on a buffing pad. 10-12 small drops can't be more than half an ounce I'd imagine, which is about what I use by hand. I always figured the pad would absorb too much to make it worthwhile to do by machine.

Actually no,this pad combo is ideal for applying this product. It doesn't absorb into the pad & allows the product to spread very well. A real must have. I'll apply product to the whole car and immediately do a wipe down. Wipes off effortlessly.

+1 on the gold LC pads for applying BFWD! ;)

Just jumpin in here with a quick question about applying BFWD. With other sealants (Megs #21 for instance) I would apply to the whole car then wait 15-20 min and do a swipe test to see if was ready to take off.

Wouldn't this also be the preferred method for BFWD?

The other question would be, how does temperature and humidity affect drying time with this product?

I apply BFWD to the whole car, clean my windows, dress the tires/trim, then remove the BFWD. It's usually ready to come off by the time I've applied it to the whole car but I do those other items first for obvious reasons.

Never seen any side effects using BFWD regardless of temp and humidity.

Dave's right bout that LC Gold pad, but I use 20x as much BFWD as he does and I still have have no issues with wiping it off. But that's just me, I am a bit heavy handed with product, maybe that's why I have had issues with some of the more finicky ones. But you won't go wrong with BFWD, it's "junebug" proof!

Thanks. I guess I thought I would need to strip the old sealant (NXT on top of Sonus LSP) before the M205 and that the BFWD Polish would remove any M205 residue. I'll follow the advice as it makes more sense now that you say it but could you expand on what you mean by super-shampoo and prep wash? Should I switch from using the Gold Class wash when doing this?
