Questions about Amazing Roll-Off

The Rainmaker
My initial experience with ARO was cleaning an engine and it seemed to work fairly well.
Definitely not spray on and rinse off like many seem to be able to do, but with some agitation it did a decent job.
Later uses were not all that great.
My question is:
Could my somewhat disappointing results be because I mixed it 50-50 with water and then didn't use it for a month or two?
It is supposed to be water activated and maybe I activated it when I put it in the spray bottle with water. That probably isn't a good thing.

My problem may have been user error more than anything.
Any thoughts?

I've had some mixed in a spray bottle for over a year but I haven't noticed any degradation in cleaning ability. I still wet the surface to be cleaned prior to spraying it down.

I currently have a thread addressing very similar questions. I thought you might weigh in on it since I thought I remembered you as a user. But I also had the impression that your experiences were more favorable.

I started a new thread rather than hi-jack yours. :)
Like I said, my first use on the Taurus engine compartment was good.
That might have been because the motor wasn't all that dirty or I just did a better job with letting the product do its job.
Since then, I have done a few others with not really impressive results. I think Meguiar's APC at 4:1 worked as good or better and at that dilution ratio, is a much better buy.
The fact that so many people rave about the ARO is one reason I think the problem might be me.
More comments, please.

Thanks for the consideration, but would not have considered it a hijack at all. In fact it is right in line with the point I was seeking to resolve. I don't see a lot of raves, 2 that come to mind and I may have a grasp on an idea about those two. Like I mentioned the marine store manager's comment was supposedly from a boating customer. Similar, but not quite the same application. Have you tried it on your boat?

I never used it as an APC, but as a vinyl top cleaner. My bottle is over 5 yrs old and the last I used it was about 1 month ago on my 72 GS with the white vinyl top and it still cleans good as the day I bought it.

Now remember that car is not a daily driver but it does get dirty going to/from shows, parking under sappy trees and such and on weekends when I get stuck in the rain and such. It still makes my top coming out really white.

Thats about all the help I can give on this matter.

I also have never used as a automotive apc but have used it many times on boat and rv gelcoat as well as vinyl and it has always worked well for me on those applications.
