Good morning everyone.

I just have a simple question. Do you guys use a quick wax or quick detailer after every wash? I polish/clay/wax etc my truck twice a year. The truck looks amazing but it seems like the washes what follow doesnt do the truck any justice. It seems like if i follow the wash with either a quick wax or quick detailer, the truck looks awesome again. Is this a normal thing or is it something I'm doing wrong before, during or after the wash job.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

I always use Blackfire Wet Diamond Polymer Spray or Blackfire Wet Diamond Midnight Sun Instant Detailer on my family cars.

I agree with what the others have stated. Either a Spray Wax or QD will enhance the look and finish. There are many great options out there.

QD: FK425, UWWP

Spray Wax: DG Aquawax, CG V7, OCW

Another great option would be to switch to a WOWA sealant product like Ultima Paint Guard Plus, Optimum Opti-Seal, BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal. All three are super easy to use sealant that look great and can last 3-4 months. The great thing is you can Wipe On & Walk Away. You can apply these after you wash your car on usually less than 15 minutes.

Now, can I ask what "wax" are you using twice a year? That will have a lot to do with the overall durability and finish. Most true waxes will only 2-3 months while paint sealant can last 3-4 months.

After i clay the whole truck i then use Megs Ultimate polish followed by Megs Gold glass carnauba plus.

I have used the older version Meg's Gold Class Carnauba. And personally I was never satisfied with it more than about 2 months. But that was personal preference.

I would defiantly look into adding a spray wax &/or a QD into the mix to use after every wash or so.

As noted by the above responses, what you are doing is fairly normal. Gold Glass is not an extremely long lasting protectant, so it would make sense that adding a spray will amp up your shine between details.

Meguiar's makes a Gold Glass Spray Wax Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Plus+ Quik Wax 16 oz.
