How do you market Hydro2, permanon, etc, to clients for full vehicle protection?

After exploring this product this weekend I am in favor of putting it out there as an option for some of the vehicles I see. Spray it on, spray it off, blow dry. Simple, quick, easy. Offers up to 3 months protection (per bottle label).

It is a finicky product, so it does require some level of product and application knowledge to apply and apply successfully (i.e. applying under proper panel temperature/sun conditions to avoid streaks or odd 'staining' or uneven coverage)..

Yet it clearly is not a 'spray wax' or your typical 'spray sealant' or even WOWA product, so I wouldn't price it that low, but it is given that it is not up there with as advanced of products as your OC/CQF/C1 Exo tier, so I wouldn't offer it at the typical coating prices that I've seen around here.

Where do you put this type of product when you are suggesting options for protection for vehicles? .

How do you sell your customers on this type of product to protect their finish?

How do you charge for an application of Hydro2 or similar to the whole vehicle, not just wheels as i've most commonly seen this product being utilized? At what cost point do you place this product in your services?

Please advise. Thanks in advance.:yourrock

I dont think it takes any learning curve to use it..if its a sunny day you wouldnt spray whole car down..just do it per panel. Still only will take a few min and your done. I have done it in sun with no streaking issue. Thats why you do per panel so it doesnt dry at all. I dont find it finicky at all. I dont do anything for money so i couldnt comment on that side of things.

I guess first you need to determine what / how you categorize Hydro2.

No it “clearly is not a 'spray wax' or your typical 'spray sealant' or even WOWA product.” But it has many of the same if not better attributes, with similar durability. The durability to me is the key. When people ask me to “wax” their car they are usually looking for a 2-3+ month product, so I usually give them a sealant as most don’t really know the difference. Just because Hydro2 is different –or- even easier to apply doesn’t change the pricing for me necessarily. Because time is money and if I can protect a car in 10min instead of 30-45min then I am making better “Dollars per hr”.

So with that said;
Basically I see and use Hydro2 the same as I use and sell sealants. Having too many options and price points tends to overwhelm and confuse a customer.

I have used Hydro2 a few times and have never had the problems others have stated. Usually these problems like most come from not using the products as directed. You also need to consider your environment and constraints. If you are outside in the sun Hydro2 may not be the right product to use. In that case I would reach for a WOWA sealant more than likely.

In the end use what you want / like, and what fits your clients needs the best. But time is money.

Im waiting for mine to get here, but I plan to use it mostly on RVs. Ive been slammed with RVs all summer long. If I can charge $200 to $300 for a wash & wax and be done in 3 hours, thats money in the bank. The client got a quality wax job, I saved a ton of time, and eliminated climbing up and down a ladder for hours. Everybody wins :)
