Question for Mobile Detailers (Windows)

Since I do alot of mobile detailing as many others on this forum I had a question?

With the heat and being out in the sun I can't always find shade to work in. Lately I have been having an issue with windows because the glass get so hot everything leaves streaks. What can I do?

I have used a few cleaners that seem to not leave streaks in the sun.

I've practiced on my own car in direct sunlight before and had good results- using mf towels, not blue huck towels.

The two were IG by Stoners and One Grand's window cleaner.

I'm sure there are others and it might have been the mf towels that made the difference.

When doing mobile work, I sometimes will move the car down the street if necessary to get shade for that type of work.

I see 2 immediate solutions. #1: You use products that work better in direct sunlight. #2: You get one of those "EZ-UP" tents and carry it with it whenever you detail. This will ensure you always have your own portable shade to work under.

1 - Meguiar's NXT Glass Cleaner

2 - Meguiar's Glass Towel

Honestly, in the dead sun today, I was UNABLE to GET streaks. It is the easiest/best stuff I've used to date.

I second the EX-Up tent, as well as "sun-friendly" product choice when confronted with this problem. I most often use a dedicated (small white Excel) WW and RO H2O in a sprayer, dampen the WW and wipe clean. When dealing with interior tint, I will move the car if not in shade as I prefer to use Plexus and a dedicated low-nap MF. HTH

I agree, EO 20/20 is my go-to glass cleaner because it's the only thing I've found that DOESNT streak. I also want to try those new Bounty "Streak Free" paper towels they've been advertising, see if they are any better at handling the job.

I wish water was free to fill my 220 gal tank of RO. It cost a lot because of the GAS PRICES!!! There are only two places in town that sell RO and is is only $3.00 for 100gal. But the place is 15 miles from my area of detailing. So it adds up to be about $10.00 to fill up! Some times twice a day on my regular wash days.

I hate to admit how stupid I am.

Been on this forum 2 or 3 years and learned a lot.

Have a problem with my windows, tried everything and just when I think I have it down pat I drive into the sun and all kina streaks.

Well after reading this thread I relized I did have it down pat, its just that sometimes I do my windows in the hot Ca. sun and thats my problem.

I think my problem is solved.

Thanks, this is a good thread.

I tried them.. Gave a review. Didn't notice any difference over regular Bounty. Looks like the same pattern, just a little blue dye in the depressions.

As to in the sun, I use PB's S+W. No streaking if done with a slightly dampend mf and followed by a buffing.

i third the ez-up, i have one for those extreme days. also, we normally would clean the glass with a concentrated cleaner then follow up with a glass wax that clears up any streaks left and it leaves a blinding gloss....
