Question about trim molding after PC7424.

Hey everyone,

I was just detailing my car the other day and while poloshing my paint, the PC7424 gets near the trim molding of my car, causing it to rub SSR2.5 at high speeds into my trim molding!

My trim moldings went from a nice shiny black to a dull faded black with some white marks left from the SSR2.5 on it now.

Is there anything I can do to restore my trim? They're so ugly now and I can't get it off my mind. I've tried going through everything with Mother's Back-to-Black but that didn't do anything really.

Next time, I'll definitely cover up everything with some sort of tape.

Thanks for your help everyone.

You might want to try some Trim Restorer by PB's. It does a very nice job of restoring exterior grainy trim. I use it before I polish and don't have to tape up anything.

B2B is not really a good product IMO. After I have tried PB trim restorer, my B2B has been retired.

Second this...use the TR with a soft tooth brush working the trim, then wipe / buff with a towel...lastly if you get any on the paint...use some QD spray to remove that and your good to go

also treat your trim before polishing so nothing sticks to it;)

I like to tape my trim and other areas that can get build up or discolored from polish. If I treat the trim before I ploish about how long should I wait before I can mask it?

Or are you saying that if you do it first you shouldn't need to mask it?

I guess great minds do think alike. :rockon :bigups

If you use the TR on your trim before you polish, there is no need for taping. Afterwards, if you get any product on the trim while you're polishing you can simply wipe it off without the fear of it staining.
