How do you know if you posted in a thread from the "New Posts" page

It used to have like a little arrow or something on the page all the way to the left of each thread.

Now there is just yellow and white pages there

What happened to the arrow? Or am I missing something that tells me I have a post in that thread :(
 
There's a blue check mark in a box on the thread that you posted, or your can subscribe without posting..can't miss it.
 
That only appears if you subscribe I don't want the notifications that someone replies as I check often and don't want the extra emails

I'm looking for something that tells me that I have a post in the thread either by an arrow on the little page or a black dot like autogeekonline heck if it changed hot pink I wouldn't care lol

I just posted to a thread, but did not subscribe and the check mark came up. You should be able to unsubscribe from the email notification.
 
Once you post to a thread you are subscribed(blue check mark). As long as you don't unsubscribe to it click on User CP. It will list the current active threads you have posted to and on the right hand side towards the bottom of the list on the gray line is the words View all Subscribed threads. Click on it and it will list all the threads you have have ever posted to, again as long as you haven't unsubscribed to them. Hope this helps.

I understand what you are saying and I don't have an answer. But with the way the system is working, why would you not want a symbol on the thread that you replied to? Would you not want to read what others might say in regard to your post? If you don't want e-mail notification, you can always unsubscribe.

I do want a symbol there haha that's the problem ... I currently don't have one and look at posts saying did I post in that I don't remember :wall
 
Pockets, I looked at your settings and couldn't see anything out of order. This is probably a stupid question but you are signed in right? If so, I would clear your cookies and try again.

Actually, as I said in my other post, if you post to a thread you are automatically subscribed, that is what I was telling you. I have no clue how to post the image but the one you have up is the new posts, if you had posted to any of those there would be a blue box with a check mark in it in the column between the title and the last post cloumn. Once you post to a thread you are subscribed and the blue box with the check mark appears. If the thread is not current but you have posted to it and want to find it go to your User CP and click on view all subscribed threads.

Now if you posted to a thread(which again I said you are automatically subscribed) but choose thread tools and unsubscribe then it will not show up on your User CP page.

Maybe someone can post an image and circle the little blue box that I am referring to.

Even though you started this thread there should still be a blue box with the check mark to the right of the thread title.

The part that you have circled in red I believe just indicates the activity of the thread itself.

For me, if I want to see if there has been any activity to any thread I have posted to since I last signed in I click User CP and it will be bold, if there has been no activity since I was on last it will not be listed but it will be in the list of view all subscribed threads.

I hope this clarifies it.

If you don't want the email notifications after your posted to a thread when someone else posts to it then you need to change that in you User profile. You can do that under your User CP and click on Edit options under Settings and Options in the left column. Under Default Thread Subscription Mode: When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread. Default Thread Subscription Mode: Change this box to no email notifications.


 
Skibik, I think Pockets is asking about an icon in a different area of the thread box. I believe he's asking about a blue box with a check mark that is present at the right of the title of the thread. For me and I think formerly Pockets this shows up on threads where I have made a post. I could be wrong here but I think he's asking where this icon has went on his screen. I've checked his settings in his user profile and from what I can see they appear to be correct.

Look at the little blue boxes in the center of this clip. If you look at this thread (the one you're reading) as shown in the clip, I'm the last poster. Obviously I've posted in this thread and this identifies that I've posted in it and two others. Pockets, tell me if what I'm thinking is correct.

I see the checkboxes but I never read messages that way. I just go to new posts (actually bookmarked it), scan the thread titles, and read what I want, then mark the rest read.
 
Thanks skibik ..... You get what I'm saying but they were there at one point in time or at least something that tells me that I've posted in the thread and a few months ago *poof* they went :(

Thanks Mark and you got it where did my blue boxes go! Haha thanks for taking a peak .... I have not changed anything in there for a while so I'm not sure what happened :huh:

Has anybody else experienced this?

I see now see what you mean. I just looked through all my settings and I don't even see that there is an option to even turn those off. Try what GearHead said. Try logging out clear your cookies and maybe clear your history as well and then sign back in. Your option for now would be if you want to look at threads you posted to go to User CP the current and active threads will show up on that page and if you want to look at anything older then click on view all subscriptions. I am not sure what the problem is but I know everything I post to a blue box shows up with a check mark to the right of the title. If I unsubscribe to it the blue check mark box disappears. For some reason when you post to a thread it is not seeing that you are subscribed to it.

Only question I have is, are you emptying your subscription folder? This would make the blue check mark boxes disappear even the threads you started.

I hope you get it figured out.

Dean, wondering if you see these blue boxes on your screen in threads where you've posted? I've started to wonder if Pockets and I were the only ones seeing these.

Yes, I do. Anything that I post to the blue box shows up. But, if I unsubscribe to it after I posted to a thread the blue box disappears. Even though I have posts to a thread the blue box is gone if I unsubscribe to the thread. That is why I was wondering if Pockets was clearing out his subscription folder.

I see what he is talking about when he mentioned the little black dots in the left column. I belong to a Camaro forum that uses those but I never noticed them before but they use a similar check mark. On that forum I normally just head to my User CP and check to see if anyone has posted after I did, its a lot easier since there are way to many threads to sift through to find the ones I have posted to.

Thanks Dean, I've been trying to figure this out. Sometimes Mods, Vendors and Admins have different things show up on their screen than member accounts. Meaning I'm not sure that what I/Pockets sees is what everyone sees. Pockets account is that of a Vendor and I was wondering if something had been reset in his account rights.

I don't know that Pockets has cleared his subscriptions but your explanation would certainly make sense under that premise.
