Question about cleaning flat black car with gloss flames

My neighbor has a 54 pontiac that is flat black on the rear half of the car, and the front half has flames done with base and clear coat paint. He might want me to detail his car for him, but what would I use? I wouldnt think I could wax the whole car, he doesnt want the flat black to shine, but he does want the flames to.

oooh ooh post pics! well i guess you could use a normal wax on the flat black just to give it protection, but then you could give the flames a good couple layers including a polish to make them stand out
