Question about chamois

Ok I did a search but didn't get a straight answer.
Are real leather chamois safe for your car? WHat about synthetic chamois?

I had a real leather one but did not like it. Go to PAC and buy the xl waffle weave micro fiber towels and you will get better results

I think some people here are fans of the 'Absorber.' I don't know if that's what you mean by a synthetic chamois though. I like the Absorber and have used it with no ill effects( I assume it is relatively safe), but have began using the waffle weave microfibers.

Yes both are safe ... However ... Chamois (both types) are very smooth which makes it easier for dirt p to sit on the top of them. They are also difficult to get perfectly clean after using a few times.
I have used both types over the years with much success but also with some micro scratches and spiderwebbing.
The Newer micro fiber towels seem to do a much better (safer) job of drying the paint without leaving marks.
I can dry my Pontiac Bonneville SSEI (big car) without wringing out the big blue MF towel from PAC.
This is only my opinion based on my experience yours may be different!

I have not used MF for drying mt cars yet jstu know that they work. My black BMW is harder than hell to get dry with cotton. You think that the waffle weave MF might be a good choice

Dave,
From what I have heard the waffle weaves work great, but I haven't used one yet. (One of these days very soon though)
I use this one from Dwayne and am amased at how much water it picks up with zero lint.

Featured in the 5/2/03 New York Times! We love this plush "terry style" microfiber towel! This is our preferred towel if we had to pick only one for buffing wax residue, polishing paint to perfection and drying your vehicle! At 20 inches by 40 inches, one towel is plenty large enough to buff the hazed wax, polish or sealant residue from your cars paint leaving behind a glossy, streak-free finish! This towel makes a great drying towel! Super soft and very absorbant. (Able to absorb many times its weight in water.) ( These towels are sold INDIVIDUALLY, 4 Towels are Shown in Picture. ) 80% Polyester, 20% Polyamide Blend. (Softer than cotton!) Over 90,000 fibers per square inch. Machine wash. (VERY DURABLE, wash over and over again!) DO NOT USE BLEACH. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER. Imported from Korea. 1 20"x40" towel per package.
