QEW's Cost per wash

I've always thought of QEW as a time/money efficient product. The bottle alone says it costs only pennies per wash. I've always wondered if that was true.

I just bought a 32oz bottle of QEW for $18.xx. That comes out to about 1.77oz/$1 or 1oz/$.56. I've heard different instructions for the use of QEW. One capful per gallon, two capfuls per gallon, and so on. I decided to simply follow the directions on the bottle. It says to use 1 oz per gallon of water. I tend to use about 3 gallons of water for my wash solution, so that would be 3oz of QEW correct? Making the total cost $1.68. That doesn't seem very cost effective...

Is this correct?

I buy a gallon for $35. 2 capfuls = 1 ounce and I use 1 ounce per wash, so I get 128 washes per $35 gallon. I'd say 27 cents per wash is pretty cheap.

One gallon of QEW should be more than sufficient unless your car is trashed.

Same as Scott for me. Using the two bucket method on one of my stops I clean a Tahoe, Colorado and a Silverado from two gallons of QEW solution. This time of year(no rain around here at all) the water is hardly even dirty when I'm finished as the majority of the dirt goes into the rinse bucket. I DO have to change the rinse water a few times though.
