QEW vs. ONR

I did a couple of rinseless washes this weekend using QEW. I am almost out of rinseless wash products, and thought that maybe I'd make the switch to ONR. What I am wanting to know is what has changed in the ONR formula versus the original/old formula that I tried head-to-head versus QEW a few years back. Maybe this shows how much out of the loop I am on these products, but I figure it's better for me to ask and have an idea than not know.

Basically have stuck with QEW over the years because it works, I can get it locally, and there was absolutely no difference I could tell between the two back when I compared them. Just curious if ONR has changed that much (it appears NOTHING has changed with QEW).
 
I just started using ONR this summer so I never used the old formula. I can honestly say that I love ONR and will never go without having it.
 
ONR (new version) versus QEW

Is there something about ONR that makes the wash media (i.e. the mitt) hold dirt? I seem to remember someone talking about this somewhere at one time, but I can't remember.

Anyways, I did break down and buy the new formula ONR, as all I had used in the past was the old stinky version. In direct comparison to QEW (which is the rinseless wash I am familiar with) I think it does the same job. The only differences I notice is that my wash mitts don't rinse clean with the ONR. On the flip side, my buckets don't seem to get dirty near as quickly using the ONR.

Also, my hands seem to be very dry this morning - something I have never noticed with QEW. Could be attributable to a lot of uncontrolled factors like the cold-snap we're having or low humidity.
 
I noticed the dirty mitt phenomenon too. It's supposed to be a good thing, as it's taking the dirt off the paint, they say. I don't like it as it makes me think I'm dragging said dirt across my paint repeatedly.

That's what I am thinking. I changed mitts frequently. I think I went through four or five MF dreadlock style mitts.

On a semi-related note - if anyone is looking for a good mitt in that style (MF DL), Steve @ Poorboy's has the nicest one I've seen. I plan on replacing my older ones with his orange ones. Good stuff.
 
The thing I like with the new ONR over QEW or the old ONR is that it makes an extremely effective QD spray and is also an excellent clay lube. For washing purposes I don't see THAT significant of a difference between the two.

I'm still using up my stock of QEW for washing, but have ONR on hand to make QD/clay lube.... once I'm out of ONR I'll stock and use it exclusively for both purposes simply to have one less product to keep track of.

DL MF mitts are my favorite for most wash jobs except with ONR. I've never had a use for any type of sponge when washing vehicles but took a look at the Lowe's ProLine grout sponge that many were touting for use with ONR. Retains the dirt, marr free and rinses clean without residue. A superior tool for use with ONR, IMO.
