A bit of help please. Will using a qd like fk #425, God I love that stuff, to help in the removal of stubborn sealants or waxes do anything to shorten the durabilty or dilute the look of a carnuba or sealant?

Like to revive this thread as I was hoping to get a few answers to this. Surely many of you use a qd to get off hard to remove wax?
This is my understanding of the process. After the LSP has hazed over and the excess wiped off, the curing process continues for as long as 24 hours. During this time crosslinking between the polymers takes place, and reinforces the molecular structure of the LSP layer. This curing is also the reason that many notice a change in look the day after they applied the LSP. If you wipe the surface during this time you might disturb the polymers from setting up properly, potentially reducing durability. Especially introducing water to the finish will likely disturb the process. This is why you shouldn't drive the car in the rain right after applying a LSP. Likewise it's best to wait at least a day before washing the car or wiping it down with a QD. The 24 hour figure is a rule of thumb, as the actual time depends on many factors like temperature, humidity and the specific LSP.
So to answer the question: No, I wouldn't use a QD to aid in removal of LSP's. But it might be okay to wipe the LSP with a product containing the same type of polymers. I believe this is why when using e.g. zaino Z5 it's fine to give the car a Z6 wipedown afterwards. Maybe it would be ok to use #425 over FK1's LSP's, I just don't know the products well enough. I would focus on applying the LSP as thin as possible, so it won't be as hard to remove, and a QD won't be needed for removal.

i was browsing the forums yesterday and this question was posed somewhere else. from what i gathered, there is a curing time on sealant type LSPs that contain polymers.
Carnauba however does not contain these, and basically when its dried to a haze, its ready to go, I dont think a QD will affect it since there is no curing time.
again this is what ive read, not my experience, like i said i just use a dry towel to buff off the residue, takes some time but im paranoid!
