QD For Liquid Glass

Is the Liquid Glass Polish the gold can with the pink C-2 Corvette on it safe to use on the 2005 C-6 Corvette. I believe this product does contain petroleum distillates which the corvette owners DVD manual says do not use any products containing petroleum distillates. If this is true which products that don't contain petroleum distillates will give me the longest lasting protection and easy one step application? :notpossib

Treat the paint like you would any other time. I would say that, yes, the LG is safe to use on it, as is any other wax/sealant. As mentioned in another post, finding a sealant/wax without a trace amount of PD in it might be hard. I don't really know that much about PD and the new regulations coming up dealing with them, but I would imagine the paint on a new Corvette is going to be the same base coat/clear coat that almost any other GM vehicle has on it. If I am wrong about that, then disregard my post and accept my apologies.

I don't know why the C-6 has that "no PD"s" in the manual. This has been causing alot of commotion over at some Corvette message boards I frequent.
The reason I asked about PD's elsewhere over here at DC was because of this statement from GM/Chevy regarding the new C-6.
Now, there's a big difference in my mind between 1Z Glanz Wax, which is heavy with PD's, and something like Klasse products which have PD's but in much lower dosage. Lots of veterans here and at Autopia swear by Klasse. Ditto Zaino which I believe also has PD's.
I believe that Poorboys stuff does NOT contain PD's -- EX-P, etc -- and maybe that's true of most/all "water-based" stuff? What about Four Star?
I really would like to hear from Poorboy/Steve or someone who can answer why GM would put that "NO PD's" thing in their new manual, what it means for stuff like Klasse which has PD's in it (says so on the bottle), or whether GM/Chevy are more concerned with heavy-PD products like 1Z or even idiotic use of kerosene/turpentine to clean the cars.
Because if the no-PD rule is STRICTLY enforced, you just eliminated lots of top-notch products that folks have used for years. And even heavier-PD stuff like "Liquid Glass" has been used for years by Corvette owners, and I don't know of anyone who's had a problem with it.

So true eliminate alot of good products and the Liquid Glass Polish has worked great for me over the years I have used it. It is a one step application and process. Now I have heard too much about Zaino which the preparation to me is alot for me back n neck problems but how does Klasse compare to Zaino it must be an easier shorter process and which one will last/protect longer?...HondaMan said:

I don't think they have started using a BC/CC that is going to act adversely to polishes that you have used before with a lot of success. It sounds like this is a case of typical manufacturer marketing. They probably have some polish at the dealer they say "is the only safe thing to use on your new Corvette." Not saying this is the case, but don't buy into manufacturer :bsflag
Liquid Glass Polish also removes or fills in the scrathes makes them disappear in any event. I have used this product so much just for that also. I don't know if that is due to abrasion of the product or is it a filler. But the instructions do say it is an accumulation of applications that provides the extra protection so then I would believe it to be a product that does not remove itself everytime you apply it but rather build itself up. I can't remember what this type of cleaner wax or type is called in the detail world.
