pw/c: which method for removing?

I just received my shipment of Steve's products today. Thanks Steve. I never used PW/C before so it was interesting when I read the back of the bottle. My question is what's better? Is applying and then working in until the product is gone without letting dry to a haze, or applying and then letting dry to a haze?

If I don't let the product dry to a haze will I still have the same amount of protection as if I did let it dry? I thought the best protection with carnuaba products is to let them dry to a haze.

IMO if you want to maximize its' abilities to clean, work it until it is gone. To maximize its' protective abilities, apply and dry to a haze.

When I use PWC as a prep, I do a variation of the two. I like to apply it with a polishing pad on the PC at about 5-5.5 until it is almost gone, I do the whole car, then remove the haze.

I apply PwC with a polishing pad around speed 4.5. Work it until you can barely see it. Apply to the whole car this way, then go back to the first panel and begin wiping off the residue.

What about if I'm applying by hand? Same answer? I don't have a pc.
For application by hand, I'd prefer to use a cotton terry covered foam applicator. Wipe in linear motions forwards and backwards. Go over each section 2-3 times for coverage. Apply to the whole car, and then start wiping the residue from the first panel.
