Purchasing a PC, have a few q's ...

I will be ordering a PC tomorrow, and have a few questions regarding my new cleaning process for my car. I have a 2003 VW Gti 20th AE, with 5000 miles. The paint has always been treated with Klasse AIO & SG after it is washed. Upon my purchase of the PC, my new routine will be:



1 - Wash

2 - Poorboys SSR 1 with a white polishing pad (LC Hi Gloss White Pad)

3 - Polish with Klasse AIO (LC Hi Gloss Black)

4 - 4 Star Ultimate Paint Protection (LC Hi Gloss Black)

5 - Poorboys Natty's Wax (LC Hi Gloss Red)



Would using SSR 1 on a two year old car with only 5,000 miles be necessary? Should I only be polishing/waxing my car if the paint is in such great condition? Are my pad choices good for the waxes/polishes that I have chosen? Will these pads be too harsh on my metallic paint? Also, if I have never used a clay bar on my car, would this be a good time to use it?



This will be my first time using a PC. Thanks in Advance!

I would say to definitely clay your car as I'm sure, even though you seem to have kept it in great condition, you'll have some surface contaminants.
 
Your pad choices are great. I will assume the paint is completely swirl free with no marring? You should be using SSR1 to remove any minor defects. SSR1 is so very mild, so no need to worry.

Black paint at its best looks awesome with VM and EX.. Maybe your next combo if you need to experiment..

What is VM and which Poorboy's EX are you talking about?
 
I hope, if I use the PC correctly, that there will be no dull spots/light spots. I am choosing these items to clean my car because they will not cause any problems, just polish my car. Also, what speed do you guys recommend, 2,000 RPM? From what I've read all I need to do is set it at that speed and slowly work it in at no pressure and evenly.



How many pads should I get for each step, 2 ?
 
After reading the thread "Are you overpolishing your car" (or similar wording), I decided not to use a polish this past weekend, but to simply Wash-Clay-AIO-SG.



To be honest, the results were not as perfect as I've had in the past, but they are much better than I thought I would acheive without the polishing step.



I applied the AIO at speed 5.5 on the PC (with a quick spritz of QD on the pad with each dollop of AIO), and applied the SG by hand.



If your finish isn't scratched/swirled/oxidized, you can probably skip the polishing step as well.



I was impressed with how much swirl the AIO either removed or covered (I can't really say which). To be honest, the results are 99.95% as good as when I polish before the AIO (but of course it's in this last 0.05% that we Autopians strive to be).



Good luck with your mission, and don't worry about using the PC. Don't apply much pressure, let the machine do the work, just move it slowly (SLOWLY) across the surface - up/down and then left/right. About 3 or 4 U/D, L/R cycles is sufficient - the AIO should be almost gone by the time you are ready to wipe it off.
