The clients 2006 Lexus IS350 had been hacked up by another detailer in the Atlanta area. The "shop of hacks" broke many promises to the client as they never showed up twice to properly correct the car.

The client had contacted me and sent me a few pictures. I told him I had hoped that the car could be corrected via a one-step polish.

The client arrived early in the AM. After a QEW wash and clay. The "shop of hacks" where supposed to clay the car, but I did find quite a bit of bonded contaminant on the rear of the car, leading me to believe that the car was never clayed.

I did a straight IPA wipe down on the paint to ensure a smooth polishing process and remove any fillers/glazes that might of been used.

Here are some pictures:

I first tried:

M205 via KBM flat black classic LC PCXP6

This combo removed the holograms and wool induced marring, but there where some deeper RIDS that where hidden under the work left by the "shop of hacks."

Client elected to go with full correction.

Here is a 50/50 of the door after:

M105 via KBM flat orange classic LC PCXP6
M205 via KBM flat black classic LC PCXP6

A few pics after polishing pics, car was washed with Z7 and a sheepskin mitt. Dried w/ a Big Blue WW. Wheels cleaned w/ MWB. No LSP at this time.

Hey Bryan... Yes, we have a regional branch of the "Shop of Hacks" here in Kansas City also!!!! Nice buffer trails and "streaming"!:scared:

Seriously... nice work on the Lexus! And nice recovery, I might add.:drool5:

As long as there are Hackers, you'll have a job!

You know, if you look at the before pictures, you can almost picture the guy, sitting on a stool, dirty white t-shirt, smoking a cigarette, squinting, and "grinding" away like a mad-man at that paint!!!!!:cursing::cursing::cursing::banghead:

That's me with a different shirt.

Great Job Bryan. You should name the hack shop so people avoid it then perhaps send them a thank you card for job security. In this economy hack shops help us!

Great turn around!

I love that color... one of those colors that looks better the closer you get!:drool5::hurray:

Bill, I agree a great color and the Blackfire wet diamond/Z8 combo made the flake stand out while still having a nice deep gloss.

Thanks Todd!

Since the client already named the "little shop of hacks" on another forum, I might as well.

The place to avoid in Atlanta is MOBILE1DETAILING. They also have pics of more then a few cars on their site that they stole from other detailers. On the front page is a picture of Joe from Superior Shine in CA detailing a yellow Porsche CGT. :cursing:

I asked the client how long they worked on the car. He said two guys where there for 3 hours. So 6 man hours for $250. That is about $10/hr lower then my hourly rate.

Bryan,

Amazing work, nice save. I've got an IS350 as well and I'm wondering how you found the paint? Mine is in great condition and I've always found it pretty nice to work with (as compared to my wife's ultra-soft Honda paint).

Thanks user! I always find Lexus paint very nice to work with.

Nice work Bryan! LOL @ the "Shop of Hacks" :D

Thanks Chad! I thought you would like that.

When I see one like that I say it's been to "The House of Pain!"

Very well said Bill!

Okay... lets all come clean...

How many of yall visited the "shop of hacks" website and sent them a message or two (or maybe 11)?

How many of you created dispicably creative email addresses?

How many of you sent wonderfully drafted and horribly sarcastic messages?

Being the serious dude that I am, I would NEVER undertake such childish behavior, especially considering I am a father of two and would never want my children to display such immature and childish behavior.*

*Immature and childish should be my middle name.
