Besides for being the clients daily driver, its also his track toy. So it has a "few" things done to the suspension.

Client wanted a complete interior/exterior done. So I called Bret in to help with this one as it had to be done in a day.

Process:

Valu-gard ABC paint decontamination wash.

Wheels cleaned with Valu-gard Custom wheel cleaner.

Tires and wells cleaned with ARO 1:1 water.

Used QEW as a lube for zaino clay.

Dried all surfaces.

Interior:

All interior cracks and crevices blown clean with compressed air.

Bret and I did a through vac, using brushes and compressed air. We had 2 vacs going and it still took us over 30 mins. Prior to extracting you want all the dirt out of the carpets.

While Bret worked on the leather (Zaino Z9/10) and hard surfaces 1Z einszett "Plastik-Reiniger" and "Tiefenpfleger." Bret also cleaned the interior glass with IG.

I started by extracting the mats, then the carpet. I pre-treated the mats/carpets with ultra pac and used dry slurry in my Mytee HP60 extractor.

Bret got done before I did so he applied Z-16 to the tires and ZAIO to the wheels.

When I finished extracting the carpets, I placed air movers in the car to dry the carpet while we polished the paint.

We tried a while LC classic pad via KBM on this soft clear, but it would not cut everything out.

KBM:

Orange classic LC pad/new M105/PC6 w/ light pressure.

Black classic LC pad/M205/PC6 with normal pressure.

Foamed and washed car via 2BM w/ sheepskin mit.

Applied 2x of ZFX'd Z5pro, followed by Z8 to paint and side glass.

Front and rear glass cleaned with straight IPA and then treated with Aquapel.

Bret polished the large exhaust tip and muffler with M105. They came out great!

Sorry for the limited before shots:

Very nice Bryan. Why did you use light pressure with 105 instead of the normal "heavy" pressure for that method?

Thanks Todd. With this having a soft CC and the defects where not extreme, light pressure is all that was required to remove the defects. With a non-diminishing polish, the pressure will dicate your level of cut.

Hey Bryan how do you like the valuguard? I have the 3 step one but i'm not sure how to use it. I got it as a gift so i'm wondering will it foam up enough to use in a foam lance.

Great job on the car though. For those sun shots, did you use anything to shine on the car or was it just the direct sunlight?

The carwash part 3 will foam up pretty good, the other steps are not made to be used with a foamgun.

That was a camera flash.

Very nice work, Bryan.

The interior looks fantastic....especially the carpets!

Thanks Hulkster! I don't get to use the extractor as much as I like, but on well.

Awesome work Bryan/Bret!

What size pads were you using? When you say LC classic, do you just mean the old flat style pads (non-CCS)?

Thanks,

Rasky

Rasky, Thanks for your kind words! Yes the old style flat pads.

Thanks,

Bryan

Cool, Thanks!

What size did you use and where are you getting them from? I'd like to get some 5.5" but can't find any...do they even sell the flat ones in the 5.5" size?

I like the color, too. As for handling, the car looks like it was setup for the owner's idea of aesthetics. It's way too low. The drop, if you will, relative to the car's suspension geometry puts its roll center below ground - not good if one wants to go around corners. There is a roll center kit, manufactured by Whiteline, that can alleviate this issue to a small degree, but this car is still too low for such a mod to work. I've owned two Evos, one of which - a IX like the one pictured - is never leaving my possession. Fantastic cars.

The detail looks great, BTW.

FWIW, the blue car is a SSL. It's the heaviest Evo, much of which is due to its sunroof. The IX was also available with an aluminum roof - RS, MR, SE designations - that effectively lowered the car's center of gravity, along with reducing its overall girth.

Looks great!

Question: why did you use M205 with a gray pad instead of a white pad?

Thanks!

I would use a white on some harder clears with M205, the gray/black work very well.

Looks great Bryan! I'll be doing my buddy's Evo pretty soon (hopefully). I just have to wait for him to get the money, hehe. It's good to see you're using your extractor as mine hardly gets used too.
