protection in between waxing / after washing ?

I use OCW, S&G, and QD+ -not all at the same time :)

S&G = quick and easy. Mist on your car (1 panel at a time) after you wash it, and wipe it off as you dry. Leaves a slick, streak free surface. -Not sure about the durability of this product, but it sure does make drying off your car a breeze, and I love the gloss & slickness. I have a gallon of it around at ALL times!

OCW - I use this after a wash & blow dry. Mist on/wipe off. Leaves a slick/high gloss surface. I use this a lot in the fall & winter when I want the added benifit of sealer protection and don't want to spend a lot of time out in the cold. I applied 2 coats of OCW to my parents van last December, and it was still beading strong when I detailed it a week ago.

QD+ - I mist it on a polish or finish pad and apply via PC. It takes 15-20 minutes to apply & wipe down a full size car. Leaves a nice carnuba look, and it good protection for 4+ weeks.

Zymol Detail is an excellent QD! If you are looking for an easily found QD and are out of your good QD, you could also give Turtle Wax Detail spray a try.

Is this the Platinum Series with carnauba in it ? I think it's available at Walmart.

Both mothers showtime and the turtle wax platinum are excellent quick detailers. They should last 10 days. I think people have a clear concept in thhe difference between a quick detailer and a spray (booster) wax. A quick detailer provides lubrication and some cleaning ability thus it can be used in not perfectly clean finishes (a little dust). A booster wax mimics a real LSP closer as has higher durability, but it can only be applied to a clean (just washed finish)

Personally, I keep changing between quick detailers and booster wax. If you haven't tried

the turtle wax platinum detailer give it a try. Lubricity is mediocre, but the look rivals the best quick detailers out there. OCW seems to be the preferred for spray waxes, but if you apply the booster wax after each wash almost anything will give you at least a week. Eagle one wax as u dry is good, NXT booster is OK but tricky to apply. Mothers FX gets my vote as it is the easiest to apply / remove among the booster waxes, but might be "too shiny" depending on what you have (better for sealants)

If you want to use a booster between waxing, I suggest using Collinite's Insulator Wax (IW). I apply it on my drying MF towel, and dry my car, adding a dime to my MF per panel. Then, I buff it off quite easily too. It's like drying your car 'twice' per car wash.

It's not as convenient as quick detailing, nor as quick, but it will booster your wax, and not only that, the booster wax will stay on for a very long time. I mean, it is IW!!

I use Collinite 476 as my base wax. And my car has not been fully waxed for over a 2 months now. I've just been booster waxing it with IW about once a week. I live in New England and it has rained torrentially for the last 3 days. Beads like crazy still. In fact, the last time I actually boosted the wax was about 2 weeks ago. IW lasts for months, almost as much as 476.

This is a new approach, and I will surely try it. :up

This should be hands down the longest lasting "booster wax" (sorry fans of other products) but the 845 will overpower almost anything else.

Thanks for the replys.

Basically i am looking for a product to apply after washing - so the surface will be clean. I am happy with my Mothers QD, but want something to offer more protection and give a wetter look to the paint.

The turtle wax spray, yes it is (I still had my old bottle from the past winter!).
