Proper Auto Care / CMA is Closing their doors

I can guarantee the Blackfire line will live. Too much money in that one to let die. The Eimann Fabrik line is what I'd be stocking up on if I was a huge fan.

Well, given that I don't know what each company is worth I am just going off the fact that PAC seemed significantly larger/more valuable than LC in revenue/product. But given PAC's financial difficulties (just an assumption, maybe Jack is just tired?) I suppose it's possible that LC bought them. I just don't think it's a 'good match'.

I think CMA was the first company I ordered something from online EVER... sad to see them go, but the business world is a crazy place sometimes.

One of the first for me. I think my first purchase was Klasse AIO and SG. I remember even getting their monthly catalog. :(

They were my first online detailing purchase as well, back in 2006. For that I will always remember them.

It stinks that TID is going away too, and I hope someone else takes up the Blackfire line. BFWD is one of the very few LSPs I've used that I would purchase again.

Same here, miss those print catalogs but I guess there's no profit in them any more.

Griot's still sends out a regular mailing -- way too many.

Hope other similar sites don't follow suit. I'd hate to see monopolization in yet another type of market.

I liked CMA for soaps, pads, Optimum stuff, Blackfire stuff... I can't believe they'd let a site with that kind of following and fan base (Blackfire has a pretty good following) just evaporate.

It seems like their are really only 4 sites: Griot's for their stuff, Zaino for theirs, Autotopia for 3D, and Autogeek for other random boutique stuff... PakShak does towels and some other stuff too, so I guess five sites.

Those are examples of some I hope aren't at risk of monopolization. I'm always an AG fan but I'm not in favor of only one source to choose from.

I bought my Meg's buffer from PAC. It was an early problem model that Meguiar's eventually replaced at no charge. I had sent it back to PAC initially and received a call from them detailing their efforts at cleaning and lubing the buffer. I was talking to guy who actually tried to fix it. Pretty cool...

It sucks to see them go out of business.
