Proper Auto Care / CMA is Closing their doors

For the money they just sunk into a new webpage, this doesn't seem very characteristic of PAC. Perhaps it's just a name change...

I agree, but I'm pretty certain they are done for good.

I thought CMA was purchased by Lake Country a while back but it does seem strange they would close just after the web site update.

So what does this mean for the TID forums?

Mindflux- Hey, good to see you posting here :wavey

Heya.

Yeah, the whole PAC thing has me posting in a few places. I was too wondering where I'd get EF and BF if PAC folds since they own the rights to both.

I'm not sure if that's implying I'm out of the loop or just asking where I've been?

If the latter: I've got a toddler, she's turning 2 on July 9th. I've picked up Aquariums as a hobby (both fresh and saltwater) and I've been working my office job a lot.

If the former: *shrug* ;)

That seems like a pretty oddball acquisition if it happened.

I wonder what precipitated this? I like that they always had a good selection of brands. I love the EF line.

I made my final purchase with them today. I wanted to try BF in the future but i guess i wont be able to (emptied the wallet on neccessities). Maybe they are doing a close out to focus on just the BF line? The only other thing i can think of is that when they switched to the new website traffic dropped because of technical difficulties?

I just hope they inform us of what is going to happen with some of their lines, it would at least provide closure.

I think CMA was the first company I ordered something from online EVER... sad to see them go, but the business world is a crazy place sometimes.

First online retailer I ever bought from. Got my 1st taste of boutique brands...sad day indeed. :rain:

One of the first for me. I think my first purchase was Klasse AIO and SG. I remember even getting their monthly catalog. :(

Here's some more info about the closing:

Will PAC raise from the dead? No. This is the end of PAC/CMA as a company.

Did Jack try to sell the company? I'm not at liberty to discuss.

Could a few members try to purchase the company? I have no idea.

Will TID survive? No.

Will the Blackfire Line live on? I hope so. Multiple people and companies to my knowledge have expressed interest in the line, but I am not really privy to any information besides that.

Will Jack allow TID to be archived? I have no idea as Jack has so much on his plate right now I am not sure if this is even a thought of his. I will ask however. Believe me when I say that Jack is passionate about all fronts of detailing and I am sure (given the time and opportunity) he would hate to see the knowledge shared by so many great and knowledgeable people on this forum disappear.
