Project Has Arrived!

Well I'm finally done. This car sat for a year an half without a wash and was by far the dirtest car I've ever cleaned. It took me a total of 3.5 hours just to wash and clay the car. There was some places where bird sh@! damaged the paint for good, but the car looks much better now. I decided to sale the vehicle, so instead of new carpet I done what I could with what was there. Here are some of the pics I took and my process.

It sure seems like you do good work!! I am sure that it will not be for sale for long. Hope you make a bundle!!

Nice work!
The car definitely looks ready to sell.
Your decision to clean rather than replace the carpet makes good business sense.
Keep in mind that it is a used car in it's 11th year of use. The person that buys a car that old shouldn't be expecting new and should be quite happy with the results of your work.

Nice turn around on the T-bird. Do have any after pictures of the engine? How long did the project take to complete?

You should have started a new thread in the Detailing showcase.

Thanks for all the kind words. I sometimes set my expectations to high for sure. I was pleased with the outcome of the paint, but I wish I could have got better results from the carpet. I knew before starting I probably wasn't going to make the carpet look new again, but like always that was my goal. It doesn't look new, but It looks much better. Like Charles said its 11 years old and its going to have some problems. My process was the interior first, then the engine, and the exterior was last. I done this over 3 diffrent days and I would say the total time was around 10 hours. The engine was cleaned, but has not been dressed yet. I have two items that I need to install under the hood this weekend, and then I will be able to apply some dressing. I will get a pic then. Thanks again for all the kind words.

Since you are selling the car, you could try Brake parts cleaner or New car prep from AI to help remove the carpet stains or spots. For the future, an excellent carpet cleaner/spotter is 303 cleaner and spot remover.
