Project Dirty Beater II

SLICK!!!! Nice work so far... I second a 1.8T swap... I used to know a few people in Vancouver (Canada) with some serious MK1s.... VR6 Turbos, etc.... awesome cars!

Take care with it!

It's teaser time:

Did a little more after work today:

I'm off to the u-pick tomorrow to scavenge for some misc. parts. Sunday I hope to finish my polishing. Check back then for more!

Hood finished

It looks like you polished the headlights and the GTI badge? The car is starting to look a lot better, can't wait to see it when its finished.

This has been what got me sidetracked:

The head was so warped from the Previous Owner overheating the car that the machine shop said not to bother having it milled.

I have a G60 Corrado engine that, for now, I'm just using the head off of. When I can save up the $$ I'm going to be putting that head on the Corrado block and putting a T4 setup on the car. Until then it's going to be my lively little gas meiser.

I'll have some before and after engine bay shots this weekend when I finish up.

yup it's the ultimate steam cleaner! If you have ever seen a cylinder wall after a blown headgasket you will know what I mean!

I did a customers car this weekend, a red vert ceedes. The car was completly oxidized to hell, so you sir get a :bow for all your hard work. I must say though, doing compeltly oxidized cars are pretty fun. Its where you REALLLY see improvement and than understand why your working so hard.

All I can say is HS! That hood before/after pic is amazing. I'm still in a little bit of disbelief at how that is even possible.

I'm clearly partial , but my vote is to drop in a VW TDI engine for the swap!

If you do rebuild the head do not under any circumstances use a scotchbrite pad to clean/prep the head or block :furious:
