Professional Prices

I was just in the service dept of the local Nissan dealership in Turnersville, NJ. There was a sign on the wall that said $395 for a complete detailing. How does that sound for a professional price?

$395 at a dealership?! Run fast and hard; don't stop until you've left the state!! :hmph:

Actually, I'm not even sure they do their own detailing. There are about a half dozen dealerships all located in this one complex and I'm pretty sure they send out all of the body shop, paint, and detailing work. Maybe that's why the price is a bit high. Then again, maybe the wholesale price the independent detailing shops are charging the dealerships now-a-days is a lot higher than years gone by. Either way, charging a retail customer $395 makes the average price of detailing appear to be a bargain.

I've found that charging $30.00 per hr is a fair price for what my skills can bring.....My regular clients are charged $25.00 per hr.....of course thier cars are pretty easy to maintain and most of them bring in new clients.
