Products for harder (Audi) paint

From my reading on the forum, the general consensus is that Audi paint is pretty hard. My car is a dark blue (Ming is the name), and has some swirls and a bird bomb mark in the clear. Meg's #9 doesn't do anything.

I'd appreciate recommendations for any products that I can use by hand that are tough enough to polish out these problems.

Thanks.

The only stuff I've found to remove marring on Audi clear *by hand* is 1Z. I usually have to use the Ultra/Extra, which leaves (not-so-micro)marring of its own. Following up with 1Z Paint Polish removes this hazing. It's a *LOT* of work...

I really would suggest you get a PC or a Cyclo. Yeah, it's expensive, but with Audis I consider it almost mandatory. Heh heh, scratch the "almost"...I consider a *rotary* almost mandatory!

BTW, Ming blue looks great when it's all polished up :xyxthumbs

Oh yes, do tell me about it. I polished a minute scratch for about 45 mins straight with a PC before I got 95+ % of it out :eek

I had the same problem with some Saab paint yesterday. I didn't even think to use my 1Z goodies. DACP and SSR2 wouldn't touch the swirls using a PC. I had to get the rotary out and work each section long and twice!!

.. Now I, uh, have something to look forward to after I get this 1z stuff.

Heh heh, yeah, you have your work cut out for you. But once you get it looking nice, the hard clear can work *for* you since it reisists marring. Do a search on "Accumulator's Non-marring Wash Technique". It's possible to keep Audis *very, VERY* nice.
