Product vs Tool confusion.

I was reading a post (Very Long) on what is your favorite polish.

However there is a problem. When everyone talks about a polish, be it corrective or finishing there frequently is left out some extremely important information that lets the beginner and perhaps the expert also to be left in the dark, so to speak.

For example when you (the professional) talks about a polish you hardly ever say what size area you are working, how many passes, what pad size & type/color, whether you are using a PC or a rotary, and some general comment about the time it took to accomplish your task.

This type of information is invaluable to the thinking/completing aspects of projects.

I am not knocking you guys just trying to take you back to the time when you didn't know anything either.

A lot of the things will change from car to car

I think an area of about 2' x 2' is standard

the number of passes will change each time

the pad info & machine would be good to know

the time spent will vary depend on the paint condition, amount of pressure, speed of the machine

I think you just need to gab your machine and go learn how it works on your car

in this game you just need to go do it ,and no be an armchair quaterback(not knocking you either)

All those things dont really matter since its always different for everyone.

With some experiance you will know what works and what dosent.

Like Jim said, you just gotta go do it.
