Product Review: Adam's Butter Wax

COME AT ME BRO
Packaging: Very nice bottle with catchy black, red, and chrome label. 12 ounces. Flip-top dispenser. Spout tip on the dispenser allows for very precise application of product.

Product: The Butter Wax is viscous and yellow-colored. It is non-abrasive. It too has a unique smell. Almost like a banana drink or something. I enjoyed the aroma while using the product.

Directions: The directions say to dampen the Adam’s Microfiber applicator with the Adam’s Detail Spray and apply a small amount to the pad. They also say to use the Revive polish for maximum shine beforehand. Treat entire vehicle (apply to whole vehicle, and then remove). It makes appoint not to get it in cracks. Lightly mist and then remove residue with the Adam’s Microfiber Polishing Towel.

Adam’s Microfiber Applicator:
A relatively big applicator. I would not suggest for small-handed people, as it might be “too” big. It is a very plush applicator. Personally, I do not like MF apps, as I feel I use too much product with them. I prefer the foam or terry pads for hand application. The Adam’s MF app feels more plush and is a lot thicker than the cheapie one from AutoZone. A good applicator, but after using, it is still not my first choice for hand application.

Application: I applied as instructed; misting the MF app, applied to the entire vehicle, and then let it sit for 30 minutes( this was not in the directions, I just felt like I would leave it on for a little longer). I feel that I used too much of the Butter Wax also, and I still think this is due to my using the MF applicator. The Butter Wax flowed very, very easily onto all my paint surfaces. Extremely easy to spread. The Butter Wax seems a little thincker than most other liquid carnaubas I’ve used, but it still applied just as easy (or easier).

Removal: Used the Adam’s Microfiber Polishing Towel (lightly misted with Detail Spray) to remove the Butter Wax. This stuff comes off EXTREMELY EASY. I used minimal effort at most to remove the Butter Wax residue. One great thing about the Butter Wax (and also the Revive) was there was no dusting. I was absolutely amazed at how little I had to work to get this stuff off. :bigups

Look: Adam’s Butter Wax has a unique look to it. I don’t think it deepened my red paint at all, but it gave it a very radiant shine.

I really loved using the Butter Wax. Easy on, Easier off, great look. I can’t say anything negative about this stuff. I did use this after the Revive polish, in a garage, and the paint surface was cool to the touch. I don’t know how it would perform in the sun (I have heard very well). I also can’t vouch for “durability” as of yet. I am extremely happy with Butter Wax and will probably be using it the next time I reach for a wax.

Update: Got my wish yesterday. It was a fairly sunny day out, so I went to applying another coat of the Butter Wax. Went on just as easy. Applied to the entire vehicle, let sit for 30 minutes (in the sun), and then removed the residue. It removed just as easy as when I was in the shop Saturday morning. Not sure I can really tell a difference in the look. I applied this time with a Meg's foam applicator and was able to control my product usage much better.

I also used the Detail Spray over the Butter wax late in the afternoon. If it's possible, the D.S. worked even better over the butter wax (previous wax I used it over was S100). Left an absolutely smooth finish and it looked great. This stuff is definitely a winner. I forgot who mentioned this, but the D.S. really does seem to stop fingerprints from appearing on the paint. What a super product!!

Does someone have to use Adam's detail spray with this product? What about other detailing sprays or water instead?
