Product recommendations please

I've been searching all over trying to find something that will fit my needs for a wheel well dressing. I guess I would also like this product to be gentle enough to go under the hood as well. The only thing I have come up with after a lot of looking around are CG Bare Bones & Meguiars hyper dressing. What are you guys using on wheel wells?
 
I've used 303 Aerospace protectant. Have had also good results with CD-2 engine bay dressing.
Lately Poorboys Bold and Bright does a good job.
 
Griots makes an undercarriage dressing thats similar to Bare Bones that is supposed to be really good, but I cant bring myself to pay that much for their products when there are so many others that are just as good and half the price. Ive seen some great results from B&B being used on undercarriages and engines.
 
Thanks guys. Maybe I'll give the B&B a shot. I'm really becoming a fan of the Poorboy's line.

For production detailing, undercarriage sprays can be expensive and initially I did not want to use them since I was cheap but after trying them, I like them. I have used Adam's, Griot's and CG BB.

I do not do production work so cost is not a major variable. One key to reducing cost is to spray lightly and spread with an applicator. Some spray and walk away but you will use more. A quick substitute is a can of aerosol tire foam (like AA).

Griots seems to be thicker than the other two (oilier) and a more intense smell but cannot translate that to durability yet. Adam's smells like grapes. CG has more of a neutral scent.

I believe Meg's All Season Dressing would a more cost effective equivalent but have never tried it.
 
On my daily drivers I just use any old tire dressing. On my garage queens I use CG Bare Bones or Griots UC Spray. Just be careful using UC spray. It can be very messy and I have had it stain my driveway in the past.
 
I have used Griots UC spray and CG BareBones. After using a bottle of both I chose BareBones as my UC spray. For me they both look similar when applied but the BareBones was less oily in my opinion. Also the Barebones was cheaper per gallon than the Griots stuff.

As for engine dressing John that CD2 is the way to go. Quick and easy to apply and it leaves a nice finish.
 
I have used for some years now, Poorboy's Bold n Bright. For wheel wells, I cut it w/water. Dilution rates vary and I don't usually measure, except by eyeball. I have cut it up to 50/50. I use the "spray and wipe" method as opposed to spray and walk. First I get a more even application resulting in a more even appearance and as mentioned above less product waste and less driveway overspray/drips.

I have tried the AA tire spray, based on one detailers "review". I did a month long side by side comparison and the results were clear, the PB's wells/tires stayed noticeably "cleaner" than those treated with AA.
 
Best of my experience I can say that Ultra Protectant is specially designed for high shine on tires. I am using this spray on formula which is water based dressing that protects and beautifies tires and leave a long-lasting high gloss shine. This is one of the best tire dressing and I got 100% satisfactory result.

Wheel wells on my DD's don't deserve expensive treatments buffed with a MF towel. :D
 
The Bare Bones is what I use for wheel well dressing. Like another poster I don't do production work so the cost/ waste is not a big factor, a factor, but not a big factor. I really like it, but I've not tried Giots. For the engine I use something else like PB BnB. I never thought of using Bare bones. Might try that!
 
Is Bare Bones too greasy/sticky for under the hood? After reading all of the responses I'm now debating between the B&B, 303, and Bare Bones.

When it comes to engine bays I'm a big CD-2 fan. It's in the degreaser section at Auto Zone. It is a dressing though.

I'm a devoted CD2 fan for under the hood as well. I give it a wipe after application to dull down the gloss. I give the engine a light wipedown after every wash and CD2 still looks like it was just applied. I recently used a towel containing CD2 residue on wheel well liners after an engine wipedown. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked and the longevity appears better than many as it still appeared to be there after 4 or 5 washes.

That's my recipe for most DDs, whatever's cheap. AATF works nicely as well and it cleans up black underhood pads as it has some cleaning properties. Did my underhood pad a couple of years ago and it only takes a light wipe with a damp rag to keep it looking great.

i have been using BLACK OUT from detail king. water based. got a gallon a while back. the thing i liked it can be dulited 1:1 for the undercarriage. very pleased with the results. i have also used CC BARE BONES. another great product.
