Product info

Went by Rightlook.com the other day. Picked up 12 MF towels for 39.95 and their large mf towel 28x36 for 9.99

The 16x16 are nicer than the vipers, but not quite as plush as my mint green neatitems. Worked nicely for detailing.

Used the large towel to dry last week vice my terry towels, very nice. I did the nozzle off rinse and layed the large towel on top of the remaining water. Finished the car with room to spare.

Wanted to give some pics, but you can't get the full picture of the texture difference.

Thanks for the review Likecars. Nice photos.

I never heard of Rightlook.com either Floni. Appears they are in the Diego area and have a line of detailing products.

Someone mentioned them a few weeks ago. Saw they were local and stopped by, really wanted to check out the big mf towel.

They are a detail training company, had a class going when I dropped in. Nice folks. I picked up some grey and white pads for my PC, will get those after Christmas to try out. The rep. that helped me gave some free samples of their polish etc..

Would love to find a local source of good material to save on shipping (hey mayor how about a local outlet???...my smile wouldn't go here..see bottom) I like both big and small towels, although I still like the neatitems the best and they are free shipping. I would like to try their (neatitems) big towels but I'm trying to stay away from the $20 mark.

On the rightlook towel I applied the CD test did not see any scratching. I want to get a magnifying glass to really look at it. This seems to be our standard test?

Got to run, check out another new toy. It's great.

:)

RIC, how is the quality of those towels from hhshopping.com/.......

I wonder, since they are advertised as bath towels/rags.

Josiah

They are EUROSHINE towels. They look like good quality, especially the heavy ones.

They do fail the CD scratch test that I use. But everyone seems to believe that test is irrelevant anyway.

Hey RIC,

How can you tell the make of towels from low quality pictures of them on a website? The site with a wholesale discount for a $50 purchase has all low quality, small images that I would never rely on for spending that much of my money...just curious:)

the cd test will only say if something is safe (stuff that doesn't scratch a CD will not scratch a car, cause the clear is harder than a CD)

it will not say something is not safe (stuff that scratches a CD won't necessarily scratch a car, again cause the clear is harder so you won't know until you actually test it on the car)

but it if you are testing two things it may tell you which one is "scratchier" than the other, like in MT comparisons or mitt comparisons or whatever.

Make sure you understand the limitations of the CD test before you use it as quality control for product usage :)

I agree with our esteemed CD Test Poster Boy. The great use of the CD test would be to determine the safer product of 2.

For example take a Miracle Towel or something else you know will not scratch under normal usage and rub it on a CD until you see scratch marks (10-50 rubs depending on how hard you rub it....you should fall in to about 40-60 rubs because you don't rub your paint!).

Then do the same process with the same grip on the other towel and the same pressure and rub the same number of rubs. You will then know which product is more abrasive.

I hate it when my burner messes up on one $0.20 blank cd... where you get all these CD's that you do tests on? :D

I just remembered, AOL DISK USE #128: Test the plushes and softness of Microfiber towels.

Josiah

Any time I get one of those stupid AOL CD's I keep them in the garage for CD testing. Quite useful :) They make good frisbees too but you have to pick up the mess they make. [/DISCLAIMER;)]

As I said, I bought them. They are Euroshine Brand. The Heavy ones LOOK as good as the Neatitems towels. However, these HHS towels failed the CD Scratch Test and the Neatitems passed. I will only use the HHS ones for windows and dusting.

However, many people report that the CD test is a waste of time. You might be very happy with the quality of HHS towels...and if not you will have plenty of high quality rags.

I decided to try the towels from hhshopping.com out too. I ordered some of the thick ones, some of the terry and some of the suede. I also ordered the applicators and the a few 18x36 towels. Hopefully they will work well. I also got some of the neatitems in earlier this week. I have not had a chance to try them because it has been raining all week but they seem to be a lot nicer (plusher) that the Magic towel I got a few weeks ago.
