Hi everyone,

I am new to detailing and really glad I found this site.

I have one questions as I start to collect all of the stuff required to care for my cars...

Is one brand name better than another? I've ready good reviews here about many products such as Poor Boy's, Meguiars, 4 Star, etc.

Can I do one stop shopping and get good products to care for the exterior, interior, and engine?

Thanks in advance,

Larry

Check out the sponsor's on our site. All of them have, in my opinion, the best products for detailing. They will have just about everything you can imagine at an affordable price. The cusotomer service is awesome and you wont be dissappointed. You seem to have the 3 popular brands on this site. Keep reading and you will get a general idea of what products work and which ones will be best suited for you. Welcome to the city and good luck!

I am not a fan of Meguar's, except for a couple of products. But any of the brands you've mentioned will be fine to start out. Do some research on the site here to see what product fits what situation.

While I don't happen to use all Meguiar's products right now, I did for years and IMO, they do have a very complete, quality line.
Call one of the sponsors, it's toll free, and ask them about a system to use for your specific case.
Don't start buying stuff at random. You can very easily buy products that:
1. Aren't needed
2. Not right for your application methods (Swirl removers by hand are not fun)
3. Aren't compatible with each other (Glaze under a sealant)
4. It's very easy to buy a couple of products that do the same thing and you won't use both.

What is your budget?

What color is your ride?

Are you cleaning up your daily driver or garage queen?

How much time to you plan to spend?

Will you be using a machine or doing it by hand?

All of the DC sponsors are great, but if I had to pick one it would be Poorboys.
