Product evolution...

Detailers Workshop
I (An I don't think I'm alone) feel as though the second I pick up a new product, it's suddenly out done 2x over. I'm a VERY current product detailer, always switching out products for newer better things. As much as I love this "race" to be the top dog in the detailing world, I'm at the point where I'm actually hesitant about purchasing products simply because I might as well wait for something even better... since the period between product upgrades is so short.

Rather than post about one product I figure why not discuss the best of each. Post about your go to products that you feel are the best. There's no real standard of product line's, each detailer has their own focal point per say.

Feel free to put in your input, I hope this can aid people on making decisions in a detailing world where there is literally too many choices (A lot of it seems to be marketing and hype) Please post up PROVEN products, not the I used this one time and the results were amazing. We should post about products that are versatile and can handle a lot thrown at them.

Apc - I currently use 1Z W99 (Exterior) & 1Z Blitz (Interior)

Heavy Decon - Car-pro Trix (This has been my go to for a while an has definitely earned it's right into my arsenal)

Polish - Menzerna (One of the few companies that is singularly focused in the detailing world and it shows. Menz isn't the easiest to work with, I will say it's very particular but when dialed in the results are bar none the best. I've yet to find a product that beats the gloss/depth factor.)

Clay - I've used riccardo for age's, I love it. However, I have been looking into nano skin auto scrub mitts. They seem to be more cost effective and a huge time saver as well as paint.

Wheel cleaner - Sonax full effect (Ever since I switch from P21S, the work load has been cut in half. In my opinion one of the tried and true effective & SAFE cleaners out)

Trim/ Engine Coating - Chem Guys Fade 2 Black (Easy to use, FAST, lasts and adjustable gloss level. I've used many but this is by far the easiest to use.)

Sealant - Honestly their are so many I haven't tried I couldn't give a definite answer.

Glass - Toss up between Megs perfect clarity and 1z's revamped windscreen. (Meg's is easier to remove but 1z has the cleaning power by far.)

Heavy sealants (Ex Opti-coat 2.0, Gtech C1 & Cquarts) - Please post what you feel is best.

A person will either go crazy or broke trying to keep up with every product that comes out. I stopped buying everything I wanted a long time ago and focus on what I need to get the job done. I still use a lot of Car Brite and Auto Magic stuff simply because its more economical. Heres my tried and true go to's.

APC - Megs APC+
Heavy Decon - IronX
Tar Removal - Car Brite Take Off or TarX
Bug Remover - Car Brite Beetle Juice
Wheels - IronX, Trix, or Auto Magic Spoke (acid based)
Tires - Car Brite Whamo
Clay - Car Brite Purple or Clay Magic Blue or Red
Polish - Poorboys Pro Polish or Black Hole, CG V36, Optimum Hyper Compound/Polish just to name a few.
QD - HD Touch
Glass - Sprayway or Steam
LSP - Poorboys EX-P
Coating - CQuartz

Granted I have much more to fall back on, but thats my go to products.

Todd does this to us on,purpose. Every time I order something the next great thing comes out. I ordered a flex, he releases the new GG. I get that, he releases the Rupes. Sadly I still have no Rupes :(. Yet
Lol

agree. compared to 20-30 years ago, the product choice is staggering! new products arrive daily. "coatings" are the latest rave. unheard of years ago. i am also guilty of wanting to try new products. never tried the prima line. impressive sealants to say the least. my last win of the new DP coatings opened a new door. i found MAX WAX to have insane clarity and reflection. the wheel & glass coatings are applied and working. its hard to do, but mike over at AG said it best. "find something you like, and use it often"
