Problems with meguiars diamond cut?

I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the residue that #83 left all over my truck. I used an LC yellow pad and kept it clean with #83 and it left a gummy residue all over the paint. I have been using bug and tar remover to get it off...but its beggening to be a pain and was hoping there is an easier way. I have done 10+ cars with the same method but this is the first time its actually messed me up. I am wondering if it maybe has anything to do with it being a single stage paint? That and the paint was in really bad condition. Help? heh
 
Was it #83 (DACP) or #85 (Diamond Cut)? Diamond Cut is meant only to be used by wool pad, it's not "wet" enough for a foam pad and it'll make a real mess. #83 isn't the world's most user friendly polish either.



The best way to take out the caking is to use a lighter pad and a little bit of polish (I like Poorboy's Pro or AIO for this) and just buff it off. A claybar works too but takes quite a bit longer.



Stuff like this is why I don't use Meg's polishes anymore, but if you really like them, mixing in a good bit (30-40%) of RMG or #80 will cut down on the caking significantly.
 
i only use 83 with PC and have no problems whats so ever....how bad is the residue? maybe something got mixed in with your polish on accident?

reason i ask was you list in the title diamond cut but in the post u said 83......

im assuming your talking about 83 dacp, in that regard i dont think you worked in 83...if you dont break down 83 it will not come off easy u may instill more swirls in to your paint try to remove it...i would just reapply a little more 83 or simply repolish the panel of 83 to it break down...again im assuming your using 83 also there maybe other factors that you did not mention...any how good luck and let us know what your using ....
