problems with black 2000 corvette

i am in the middle of detailing a 2000 vette....appears to be stock black paint. i have tried everything from M105 w/ wool followed by M205 blue.....system ONE with its edge pad, and have tried every posssible combination of 105 and 205 with wool, orange, green, blue, and white edge pads. NOTHING seems to be restoring this paint.



the entire car is covered in severe water spots that arent budging, and also a thin film of what appears to be overspray......but nothing is comming out. the car was washed with fawn, followed by clay magic purple/ONR lube to prep the paint. does anyone have suggestions? is this going to require wetsand? if so, what would be the best i could do to this paint.....i have the followinf products...

is there anyway that you can get a few more pictures? Vette's have really hard clear coats but you should be able to bust through it with M105 and a nice wool pad.
 
yea.....the wool i am using is the black/white twisted wool that is double sided with a foam pad on the other side.....ive always used it with 105 with great success. its as if there is a layer of overspray on the car, but it wont budge one BIT with claying.....it just really makes the car look dull, even though most of the scratches and swirls are comming out.

hmm . . . .still a little hard to tell but be careful at the same time . . . . . if they are tiny dots they could also be solvent pop.



Some vehicles will be dull after being hit with a heavy wool and M105 which is why you have to follow up with less aggressive pad & polish compounds to bring back the depth/gloss to the paint.
 
White vineger should take care of the hard water spots. The haze should clear up pretty signifigantly with the 205 polish and foam with proper technique. you may have to wetsand it if you're truely trying to get a flawless finish. That clear coat is a total PITA to deal with.

i have tried white vinegar has been said to take off water spots but i tried it and had 0% success with it.



I still think those little dots that arn't coming off with a claybar could be solvent pop.



As mentioned though the paint clarity will clear up after proceeding through a couple polishing steps. What you basically did was rough up with the paint with the Megs 105.



Follow it up with like some SIP on a Orange Pad or something near that if you don't have both of those products.
